What wonderful ideas! The message of our pastor’s sermon this weekend was the exactly the same. She shared that 1 in 5 people identify as lonely. She also shared that the age group with highest number is 18-25. When I shared this with my 22 year old daughter, she said “Duh! We have spent a majority of our life with people our age (in school) and then we are dumped cold turkey into life!” Our pastor recommended assuming everyone is lonely-because our actions are then more likely to be friendly. Thanks for sharing - I love listening to your insights. P.S. I especially loved the toy dog cartoon. 😄🌸👋

thanks. I saw the cartoon and it reminded of bouncy Roxie and I laughed like crazy. Good insight on the young being lonely I hadn't thought of them so much but it absolutely makes sense. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Denise… I was going to ask you about Roxie’s spay. So glad you updated us on that. The 24 th I will be cancer free 15 yrs! But, I am still fighting all the other stuff. MS, Diabetes, osteoporosis, chronic heart failure, etc etc etc… and many more. That is why I got my new baby Heaven the corgi. I only leave home very little and see anyone besides my husband. Our kids are grown, so I don’t see them every week even. My outlet is PT/OT twice a week. Crocheting for the needy a lap robe or pillow for their wheelchair. Try to stay busy and help others is my mission. And I still get lonely!

Sometimes M.S. can wear me down more than the cancer. Now my legs are getting weaker, that comes with its share of fear. Our dogs seems to recognize our moods, whether joy or sadness and react accordingly. Aren't we lucky to have them? I try not to spend too much time thinking about my "walking" life, but now I try to concentrate on my life today-and I'm here. Roxie and the family sure do help to keep me on track. Thanks for your comments, Michelle.

Hi Denise! It's so nice to see you again! This message about loneliness is a very important one to many people, especially with the long continuation with Covid. I'm happy to read you have close friends who get together with you whenever possible. I actually love being home alone, but since Covid began, our son stays home too. We have a cat that we adore, and a tortoise for over 34 years, which keeps me busy. I've not seen many of my friends during this strange time, because I was warned by my doctor that it's too much of a risk to do so. I agree, so that's what I do. I'm happy you have your lil bundle of pup to entertain you. I do long for the days when it will be fairly safe to congregate with friends once again. As always, you look beautiful, and I hope you have lots of good days to come!

I too am staying home. I am slowly letting a few friends come over-small batches, you know. I have to be careful and I am happy to have my family close around us.

So glad to see you and I agree with you totally. My husband and I keep our circle very small since covid and only have a few at a time over. My yorkie and other animals are my constant companions. Blessing to you and Allen.❤️

thank you Tammy. It seems that those of us with pets do lead a fuller, richer life.

I hope you are feeling well and that Roxy is recovering from her operation. Getting my dog was the best thing I done as I live alone and have a physical disability
I have family support but having a dog means I’m more social with neighbours who I Call over to walk the dog with me and before the dog I barely exchanged a word with them and now I call them
    friends

It's true, isn't it? Our pets force us to be more social. Roxie greets everyone and then that starts a conversation. Thanks for watching.

First of all, I hope Roxy is recovering from her surgery. She is such a little doll! Second, did you get new glasses, Denise? Those blue/turquoise glasses look fabulous with your turquoise sweatshirt. I'm a loner, from a long line of loners, and I've passed that trait on to my two children. I don't miss the social aspect of life at all. I prefer to be on my own (I do have to make an exception for my hubby of 55 years. lol). However, pets are another thing--I would feel very lonely without my pets. Your plan of having friends over sounds lovely. We moved to Florida two years ago and left our friends behind in Michigan. However, we do know several couples who winter near us, so we have a few gatherings over the winter months. We also take some mini vacations with our son and daughter throughout the year so we aren't totally isolated.

I think just being social no matter in what capacity helps us to cope with life. I have friends who are happy in their own skin and prefer their own company, but every once in a while they need a person to person contact. And that's ok, too.

forgot to mention the glasses. They are cheap but cute readers. Walmart specials but they looked good with my hoodie I figured.

My neighbor has a new variant of Covid. The doctor says it’s worse then the last . He is taking a new medication for it. He is in his 60’s . We live in Texas

Where I live, a small community, CoVid is still rearing its ugly head-alot, and the younger people just get mild flu like symptoms so they think everything is cool. It;s not cool. We have to be so careful out there. All we need is another variant Yikes!.
