    Lost my entire harvest to this Darn pest, which has completely decimated the Crop even the youngest plants. I do not use pesticides or herbicides and love that you are using this method. I was determined never to try and grow tomatoes again but this has given me some hope. Thank you sincerely Aindre #TheSingingCelebrant

      It’s a nasty pest, no doubt.
      We have seen a 95% decrease in 5 years with consistent trapping.
      We grow over 300 tomato varieties so this is our go-to strategy.

    Hi Living Seeds. Where would a person be able to purchase such a trap for use in a home garden. We have had this pest for two years now in Hermanus and it is devastating. I have started using EcoBuz LarvaePro with some success but I would prefer to use the trap.

      As the grubs are inside the leaf they are very difficult to target organically. Pheromone traps like the one described above are far more effective and remove the breeding population. You are then left with organic vegetables that are not tainted by harmful chemicals. In addition, you protect your ecosystem from the ravages of chemicals.

    What kind of area does one lure trap cover?

    • @LivingseedsFarm
      @LivingseedsFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EKisCOOLERasJY for monitoring 1 per HA. If you want to mass trap then 1 per 100sqm

    I live in Zimbabwe and have this pest. It's very unlikely I can buy a trap and the pheremones here, so are there any chemical alternatives please. I'd prefer the organic route, but hey in Zimbabwe we just have to make do with what we can get here.

      Hey HappyReadersZim, Controlling this pest chemically is very difficult as the larva in safe inside the leaf, so chemicals don't reach it.
      The trap and lure is easily shipped, and you can store excess lures in the freezer for 2 years.

    it's all over the world !! I am a hobbyist, anything I grow works except tomatoes . . 8 years of growing plants and was never able to grow tomatoes successfully because of this pest. I found out that if I stop watering this will destroy any aphid presence but this bitch survives all year round and as soon as it smells tomatoes, it will come for it no matter what,
    Be seedling, middle plant, fully grown plant . . .this is crazy,
    My only observatory and logical reasoning is: The tomato leaves are "too brittle". If they were thick like eggplants, the damage would be minimal . . the problem with tomato is that it will swallow water like crazy !! That's why Tutta absoluta loves it

      Actually no.
      The leaf miner is inside the leaf and neem will have zero effect.
