A friend of mine was having trouble, I asked him what his hobby was and he said , riding his rode bike. He was also a traveling salesman. I suggested stop bike riding for a month and when he's driving put the soft drink between his legs to keep his testicles cool. It worked, he and his wife finally got pregnant. Dr. Malik...I've been watching your vid's for a few weeks now and all I can say is....BRAVO. Wonderful to see a female urologist address the numerous questions many men have pertaining to enlarged prostate, psa tests, sperm count... etc. Regretfully, you're not in NJ.
Interestingly enough, my Urologist is also a young Female. I couldn't figure out why my GP suggested her for me until I realized that he did so because I am gay and he probably figured I would be more comfortable with a female urologist. I did have Prostate Cancer and radiation treatment. She actually did the biopsy herself. Embarrassing? Only a little. But at my age of 75 you tend not to focus so much being upset because another woman saw your genitalia or put tools up your rear.

In dealing with a local lab, I was told the sample had to be IN their office within 15 minutes of being obtained; so I'm having difficulty grasping how you could male a sample to a distant lab.

Dr Rena, is there any effect of prolong sitting position on sperm count or on sperm generally?
I got one once went to local lab guy handed me a cup pointed to a bathroom right off the break room had a 2" gap at the bottom of the door. He patted me on the back and said, "knock it out good luck". I'm sitting in there listening to 5 of those lab techs talking in the brake room about what they plan to do for Christmas.
Have you ever done a video on glutamine. I use this supplement for post workout muscle recovery. It seems to have an additional and unexpected side effect. I believe supplements should be used as supplements. So when I run out I don’t worry if I miss a week or two before I get more. This is where I have noticed that it does indeed aid in my workout recovery. However, it also seems correlated with something else. I don’t want to say it increases erection size, because I don’t think it does. But it seems to help you reach your full potential if that makes any sense at all. Fuller, harder and longer lasting. I would love to have a better understanding of the mechanisms at work here. I believe glutamine works by increasing oxygenated blood in this he muscle tissue. But I don’t really know what I am talking about. Love the channel keep up the amazing content.

I have a good sperm count. I gave my girlfriend a set of twins. I don’t have health issues or smoke cigarettes or do drugs and I drink but not an alcoholic. Once a month while watching a moving. I keep myself active as an iron worker.
You can earn hundred bucks a pop at your nearest sperm bank 😄

My nextdoor neighbors tried to have a kid for years with no success. When they both got examined they found out he had a sperm count so low that it was impossible for him to have children. He found out his children from his previous marriage weren't his.
What do you recommend to people who need to use a lubricant if they want to use such services?
If we are not comfortable using our own hand to masturbate and require stimulation for semen collection, is it acceptable to ask a test taker for assistance with manual stimulation during the semen sample collection?

What steps do you recommend for high PSA reading (over 10) and testosterone of over 1000 without any testosterone medication? Urinate normal and even though I drink over a gallon of water a day I only get up once a night. Urologist want to do a biopsy and I don’t feel comfortable with one.
Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion for your own good

My PSA reading was 3.1 and I had prostate cancer. Get that biopsy. It may be uncomfortable but it could just save your life.

Dr. Malik there are some interesting perspectives about sperm counts, age, and fertility flying around the interwebs. Can you clarify if men can produce sperm until they’re 90yo and if so does sperm count equate to fertility? I understood that there are other important components to seminal fluid that assist sperm motility and metabolism so they can even make it to a fallopian tube to fertilize an egg…and that those components can begin to deteriorate as young as 40+ yo. I’ve had conversations with men who are putting off having children until they are in their 50s and 60s (one guy is aiming for 70) bc in their words “they can”. (The same bro-science that told them about sperm count also told them if they’re rich and popular enough they can also help themselves to any viable ovaries they want…yeah…deep breath) Their response to deteriorating seminal fluid is “just do IVF”…are there fertility modalities for men that address this issue so their future partners aren’t carrying the burden of invasive fertility procedures? Is this a broader conversation with psychologists and OBGYNs?

Yup, studies are showing a 20 percent reduction in sperm counts
Been a lab tech for a long time in over a dozen labs. One lab got a fancy machine similar to the one you saw in this video. I was the only male in the lab. Before a new analyzer or method is put into use, we have to validate it. That involves comparing the previous method to the new method...minimum 20 times, preferably 40. All the ladies, boss on down, were looking at me funny. My annual appraisal said I "singlehandedly brought new analyzer online". :)
