the reason why it didnt recover from that spectacular collision is because the bales went from being static objects to being physics objects, unfortunately the game doesn't automatically switch them back to being static objects when they stop when its processing that much physics calculations, normally however it would eventually recover.. simply reload your game and the game should change them back into static objects. im from the space engineers community and that game has sooo soooooo much physics based calculations so i can feel your pain, though you probably cant feel my pain since i used to experience that kind of lag on a daily basis with space engineers.. they have improved the game quite a lot in the past few months though so they've made some serious progress, i usually only get serious lag like that now in space engineers when i have a 1:1 scale resurgent class star destroyer (180,000,000,000 blocks, 450,000,000,000,000 tons) crash into a planet with deadly re-entry installed.. any seasoned space engineer player would know this pain..

If I'm logging, I can bring the game to a stop, usually by either cutting a whole bunch of timber in one place, or by loading a huge amount of small lengths ( tops usually, about 2 meters long) into a trailer. Oh yes, ( headslap) it's a railway line.
There's no baling done on the server because it crashes too easily so I don't think you'd get past 1000. That's assuming you managed to get there without other players having their computers crash.
I've managed to crash the game just once. I harvested 5,000,000 litres of corn for silage. When it came to compacting the frame rate dropped to almost nothing, and it crashed. I couldn't get the frame rate back until I cleared all the chaff away into a storage silo.
Me back in 2016 when i had a terrible 2004 PC build which i used to play FS15, it would just sometimes crash the whole system if i had too much going on in the map. Windows just went bluescreen every 3 hours of FS15 or 17

Daggerwin, you should try this on a Multiplayer server, I think it would take a lot less to crash the server.

Put Silos on each side of the train tracks to hold the bails up.
Dagger make the same with same amount of square bales, but double it by adding round bales
You should use a super fast train. Maybe the bales flying far will do the trick
