Their claws are meant to break open termite mounds which is pretty much concrete plus their eyesight is so poor and pretty quick to choose violence if you approach them especially since they have ptsd from one of the biggest cats and snakes on the planet

No. I live in South Carolina and asked this very question, and they cannot live in this environment. With alligators, snakes, and other stuff, the anteaters could not serve as pest control in this natural environment. But I'm sure private pest control could use anteaters for stuff termite, fire ant, and bee infestations.
