Exactly as you say, the story of Yusuf is full of amazing explicit and subtle wonders. I could only cover so much in my book. I will die and I am still a student of the story of Yusuf, trying to learn from it and about it.

@@TheWatchmanWebsite You already know that "God will condemn you to HELL for IDOLATRY." But, instead of worship God, you choose to do idolatry, you worship a human. Even the worst thing is you celebrating his death by drinking his blood and eating his flesh. May Allah take you away from the hands of Satan, and lead you to the truth.

A very good point about the words the stars, the sun and moon being arranged in a different from the other verses. I read the verse many times and listened to its recitation even more but I never noticed it. Truly the Quran is like a mathematical text. Every word and I mean every word is in its right place. No one can pay that much attention to details like that when one writes a book. Thank you doctor Fatoohi for the insight.
If there is anyone interested to know more about the Quran and the accuracy of expressions should watch Dr Fadhel Saleh As-Samarrai for more Quran gems. His videos are only in Arabic though.

I want to correct you. Every letter is precisely placed with a purpose. Some words are missing a letter or a vowel and others have extra vowel or letter, written or pronounced or both. And they have very subtle addition to meaning and consistency in the Quran.

I wanted to ask if you can host a person on the other side of the argument of abrogation, perhaps a presentation just as academic as the one Dr Louay did.
I wanted to make an informed decision on the subject and to be honest your channel has become my number one place to get academic perspectives on matters like this.
It would be nice to get a traditional perspective on this issue as well.
I'll also look through the channel and see if you made any other videos on the subject.

Yes, so interesting. It is so fascinating after some deep study of the Bible and the Quran and then see a qualified person compare the two. It is fascinating how the Quran constantly subverts the biblical message (in a good way) like how Jacob's death scene becomes about God and not about tribes.

The story of Yusuf (es) is not only beautiful in its content but style. Ibn tayyimiah thought when Quran talks surah Yusuf (es) to be the best of ‏قصص which could be interpreted by best in style or rhetoric that can be said of course for every ayah in any case. It’s unique virtue as masterpiece in everything, whether , content, style rhetoric etc. The story is precise and beautifully related with many lessons that can be extracted from each and every verse.
There were two Saudi brothers Who extracted 1000 lessons from the story of Yusuf (es)
    MashaAllah.

The Pharaoh at the time of Joseph is called a king in the book of _Jubilees_ , dated to c. 200 BCE; after the _Torah_ had been composed and 900 years before the composition of the Qur'an. _Jubilees_ was a well known text already, and is clearly a source used to compose both the Qur'an and biography of Muhammad.
Qur'an Chapter 12 is demonstrably a written account of an oral text, a retelling of the Joseph story found in Genesis, Chapters 37-50 (but also from other sources, as mentioned above). As the guest speaker explains, the Genesis story of Joseph is more detailed than the Qur'an (i e. provides details, such as names, locations, etc, which are mostly absent in _Sura_ 12). This should be expected in a retelling, where literary texture is typically lost due to forgetfulness and other (often intentional) changes to the narrative text: oftentimes, names and numbers are forgotten during retellings, as only the gist is conveyed. By way of example, the Qur'an doesn't identify the traders who bought Joseph; does not mention the names of Joseph's brothers; does not tell of Joseph's age or how much he was sold for; and so on.
The emphases of the story are changed too: the trauma of Jacob's grief at losing his favourite son is lost in the Qur'an, which adds theological elements to the text (as noted in the presentation).
No doubt, many textual variations in the Joseph story occurred during its transmission and performance, such that the Qur'an version itself may have been adapted for its audience multiple times before being canonised; such as the story of Jacob having his sight returned to him by having his head covered by a piece of Joseph's clothing. After all, the biblical story repeatedly tells us that Jacob could see (e.g. Gen. 42:35; 45:27; 46:30).

It's worth noting that the Qur'ān seemingly uses 'Pharaoh/فرعون' as a proper name rather than a mere title (like al-malik ~ the king), since the word lacks the definite article and is indeclinable (ghayr munṣarif) because it doesn't receive tanwīn (nunation) - Firʻawnᵘ as opposed to Firʻawnᵘⁿ, as is the case with other foreign proper names in the Qur'ān (Ibrāhīmᵘ, Ismāʻīlᵘ, Hārūnᵘ etc.)

    • @gavinjames1145

@@noahrue470 Thank you, Noah, for your valued response. I hope you don't mind that I have added your comment to my Qur'an notes.
Of course Hebrew grammar does not contain the definite article, but simply refers to 'Pharaoh' (פרעה). Perhaps this could be one reason why the Qur'an uses the name, فرءون, as a proper name rather than a title?

    • @noahrue470
      @noahrue470 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Gavin James It wouldn‘t explain why the Qur'ān uses Firʻawn as a proper name only for the Pharaoh of Exodus, since the Hebrew Bible applies the given term without a definite article for several rulers, and not simply for the former. After all, numerous Qur'ānic commentators _do_ assert that he had a distinct proper name (often given as al-Walīd bin Muṣʻab). Of course, despite these grammatical concerns, I don‘t fully rule out that it could be a mere title transformed into a quasi-proper name in the Qur'ān, similar to how Arabic Islamic sources use the general term Qayṣar (Caesar) as a sort of proper name for Emperor Heraclius.

1:43:00 this theory of Prophet Muhammad (sas) compiling all these known and unknown sources in order to produce the Qur'an becomes even more ridiculous when you consider the mere time it would consume of a person. How on earth should the Prophet be able to have done it during his migration to Medina, all the battles, being a husband, father, friend, imam and so on. We would have to hear : oh on this occasion he was unavailable because he was compiling/putting together the Qur'an 🙈 but nobody ever claimed this about the prophet. And on top of it, imagine, all of this in the oral form 🤯 so at the end this orientalist arrive at a theory which in itself would require a miracle in order to be true 😅

    to Bro Paul
AsSlamunAlaykum, I would appreciate it if you could relay this information to Dr. Ali Ataie. And if you can't then at least I tried to inform him. At least he will get the chance to evaluate it.
This is a symbol that is YHWH. First it is not a name and it is not a spoken word. It is an adjective that is attributive and descriptive. Also it is some form of an acronym. Also it is not a word that is pronounceable but it can be acted out. Also it is Arabic in origin. Until Moses/Musa AS went to Median the Israelites were not given this "Name" of Allah AwJ. Moses/Musa AS received it after he met His Father in-law Jethro/Shoayb AS, in Median. Jethro/Shoayb AS was an Arab. Before then the Israelites did not know God by that "Name".
Exo 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
So This "NAME" was revealed to Him through Jethro/Shoayb AS who was a Prophet. And since Jethro was an Arab He spoke Arabic. And YHWH was not pronounced because it cannot be pronounced. It is an acronym because each letter signifies something. However it is acted out in a sense. In the Quran there is Stand alone letters like ALM or TH or YS or KHYAS, that is evidence that Arabs used this type of communication for those that could understand the intricacies of the Arabic Language. And most IMPORTANTLY it was a SIGN for the Jews as well as for the Arabs, that they would be able to confirm that What The Prophet REVEALED was from Allah AwJ. Since YHWH is in the Arabic style of Communication, one would have to decipher it's meaning using the Arabic Language.
Let me elaborate. "YHWH" : The "Y" or YA is, as is in Arabic a vocative or beseeching. Like saying - "OH" my Father or "OH" my Mother. Like wise it signifies "OH" my God. this is where you have many Jews and Christians that will say the Name of God is YAH.
The first "H" stands for breathing in or out. So if you stand really quite and take a BREATH you will notice a slight H sounding voice emitted. The "W" WA as is in Arabic means "and". The second "H" also signifies to a BREATHING, in or out. One breath always follows the other. So if you accept that God gave the Breath of Life then it becomes apparent that this action is being done by people as long as they are alive. Everyone is alive by expressing this "NAME" of God. The only difference between people is that Believers do this invoking God and being Grateful/Hamd and disbelievers are doing it in ignorance, but doing it none the less. So when you are doing the action "Ya(H)Hu" by breathing in and out while invoking the vocative "Ya", you can appreciate the meaning. In essence it stands for beseeching God/Allah AwJ by saying "OH the one who has given me the ability to BREATH IN AND BREATH OUT". In other words "LIFE" / EXISTANCE. As Muslims say " ya hay ياحي "
Let me add that this is similar to the "HURÛF-ı MUKATTAAT
    الحروف المقطّعة"
These are the stand alone letters that are in the Beginning of some of the Surats/Chapters in the Quran. The Stand Alone Letters which are original in the Quran and are in the Arabic Language. So it is ONE of the Reasons that The Jews should be able to RECOGNIZE that the Quran is a Revelation from God because of this anomaly.
The "HURÛF-ı MUKATTAAT in the Quran must also have had this correlation with the Scripture that Moses had BROUGHT from God.
    Allahu AA'lam . Salam.
