    I watched this video and istalled my handlebar adjuster in less than an hour. Easy peasy!! I actually added an adjustable and a straight. Thank you so much!! Now I sit up straighter, with much less pressure on my wrists.

    Thanks for this Video. I installed mine and was frustrated at first because I couldn't get the head tightened up enough and had a lot of slop in the head making my fork set super sloppy. After messing around a lot I was bale to get the stem tightened down enough to stop the loose head. The stem extension is the only way to go for improved rider position if you have a bad back. More up right and makes my riding position much more enjoyable.

    Nice view of the two options. I especially like that you are tall (I'm 6'5") as few reviewers talk about these options for taller guys. Also, I especially appreciate that you used the exact same bike side by side with only the stem change different. Too many reviewers don't have side by side, but end-to-end comparisons and it's hard to tell the real differences. Well done.
    I like the upright posture better for two reasons - my back and my neck. As a taller rider, I find lower bars make me hunch over and my back gets sore after about 30 minutes. As a result of being hunched over, I now have to hyper-extend my neck so my face if forward. That puts strain on my neck. So altogether, an upright posture is better for me since I'm not doing mountain trails, speeding down a race track or stuff a 20 yo would do. Thanks again for the review.

    Since I put on my satori adjustable stem, I sit upright which gives a more comfortable seating position and I don’t slide towards the front of the seat like before. Also the leg drive is more isolated in that position since that forward leaning weight isn’t there to help your pedaling. Much better than that flat stock stem that was installed on my Aventon Level 2.

    I just bought a 49 North adjustable stem. I needed to raise the handlebars on my commuter bike after back surgery. It works great. Be careful to tighten the pivot screw properly that levers the forward arm. It takes 12-13 newton meters of torque (108 - 117 inch pounds of torque)! You probably should use a torque wrench. Those e-bikes are nice, but they're never going to be "aero" machines no matter what you do.

    Great vid, I am just about to purchase my first true mountain bike. I am new to the sport, so my knowledge is little. I want to ride with my back as straight as possible, so happy I found your channel. I am 58 and some back issues, my riding will mostly be casual and little impact, but I love the look and style of a mountain bike. Will this stem fit any brand of mountain bike? My budget is about 300 to 400 bucks, so is there a brand of bike you can recommend? I know I want disc brakes front and rear, any info will be greatly appreciated.

    • @bakcou
      @bakcou  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This stem will fit most standard but we can also give you the measurements if needed. If whatever bike you get doesn't have an adjustable stem, there are lots of different sizes of stems you could get that should fit your bike if ours don't. Congratulations on wanting to buy a mountain bike! they are fun and a great way to exercise.
