HI, helpful video but i must ask...dont you need to set the nas static ip in the router as well? if so can you show us all how please. Kindest regards in advance Chris
only for the Truenas people. This is such a BS interface that it should be written down in history as one of the worst UI ever. Why didn't they just set a field for you to add the new IP instead of 'alias'? No fucking common sense in it.
Don't you have to test the change to make it permanent? That's where I get confused especially if the change is a different vlan than the one I use to set it up.
I will be having a video coming out on doing more network setup. I am planning on doing a metal setup after i finish some stuff with Proxmox. I have a HBL LSI on its way. I plan on doing a PCI passthough video with it. Then starting the build when the rest of the parts I need come in.

Thank you so much! I had no idea that "aliases" mean IP address. I was so ready to go to the CLI to set it up, but this is much easier.
Same here. Oh man, not intuitive at all.

Would be a better example if the IP address was actually changed because in this case you have to deal with the disconnect of the web GUI.
Good feed back thank you for the comment
Thank you.
