    I applaud you for your risky paint design. It’s definitely non traditional and edgy. Your thinking outside the box is what brings me back to your channel every week as I can find traditional anywhere. BTW I think your design makes it relatively theft proof.

    Wasn't digging the rusted look until you mentioned a lift and mud tires. It would be cool to add a brush bar and some rally lights to brush bar and roof rack. It would make it look like you just finished a grueling rally all the time.

    1thing you should do, asap is scotch guard.. Its your friend.
    It works wonders on seats and carpet, based upon all that dark fluid you removed from the seats and stuff it looked like coffee, thus scotch guard would prevent fluid absorption into fabrics!!
    Aside from that, your work is flawless and with your awesome ideas and motivation! Keep up the great work! Cant wait to see what the final end result it is!

  • @carterw8236
    @carterw8236 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude, your car is awesome and no one can say spit to you about your choices. You did more work on that car than most people will do on their own cars in their lifetime, and anyone who has ever so much as changed their own brake pads should be able to appreciate the amount of skill and effort that went into it, and if they still want to say negative things about it then it probably has absolutely nothing to do with your car and everything to do with them compensating for something.

  • @Scotty_in_Ohio
    @Scotty_in_Ohio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    saddle brown for the seats - possibly with some lighter or darker accents - you could also do almost a "rust" brown with a chocolate color for the accents. I wasn't too sure overall that I'd like the weathered / rusted look on a modern car but the retro style of the new bug works really well with it! as others have mentioned it's grown on me!

    I love the idea of some Mexican blanket style seat covers (maybe even getting them reupholstered if its feasible). Even spraying bleach the seats might give it a cool patina.
    Another thing to consider is swapping your radio for a RCD330 (or MIB2 if you want to spend a little more), I did the MIB2 swap and it made a HUGE difference in the experience of driving the car. Keep up the great work!

  • @99thVeil

    Ignore the negative comments. They are just jealous of what they can't have. Love the work. I was surprised how well it looks. Seats would look great with a worn out look if you can find a way of making that. Match rest of the car then. Great work

    Fantastic attention to detail! Would have said it wouldn't be what I'd choose, initially. However, I love individualism and this car is unique. I personally think that an early Scirocco look on the seats would be fab. Dark brown edges with brown and white hounds tooth centres for the seats would knock it out of the park! We don't get anything like this in the UK. Loving it!👍👍

  • @roadwarrior8213
    @roadwarrior8213 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you don't want to shell out for recovering the seats, you could find some serape blanket's, and tuck them or sew in some elastic to turn them into a fitted seat cover, also fluffy floor mats, and some fuzzy dice of course. Also really enjoying the build, looks uniquely awesome

    I loooove this build! Huge fan of the rusto-mods! I have a 65 jeep with tons of natural patina and just had the seats re done in a weathered lighter brown vinyl. Works really well with the rusty look and I think your two tone seat idea would work awesome.

  • @MrCarCrazy
    @MrCarCrazy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So many cool options for seats. If you’re wanting leather you cannot beat the quality of Katzkins.
    I’d go with a tan or brown leather, or if you want to really excite all the VW peeps. Search “VW PLAID SEATS”. I personally think that would be epic. But it may have to be custom…
    Oh and great work thus far. You’ve really transformed this car into something special.

    The paint job is really growing on me and its an amazing effect you've got going on there, I'm sure you'll use that technique on future projects. What's more important is that its what you want, you're being creative, keeps you interested in this project ..... and you'll never have to wash the car ;-)
    Nice to see you using the little green bissell machine to clean the seats as its so compact and easy when compared to the rather harsh jetwashing which so many youtube channels seem to do!
