Not knowing the base release of heroes in the game in 2004 is hurting your ability to narrow it down. It cuts the pool in half almost if you know heroes that got added later.
Interesting, I have never paid much attention to the release year. I don't think that I'm going to study up on that though. Feels like a non-game deduction, although helpful, not part of Dota. Thanks for the tip though!
