I had the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and I was at the second floor of my house and I accidentally dropped my S9+ from the second floor down to the first floor and it didn't break and I had no case or screen protector applied. But when I went to the movies and waited for the time to go in, I was sitting in a table and my S9+ dropped less than like 30cm my screen cracked on the top left corner. I was like really! Out of all the drops that I accidentally did, it had to break that time. Lol

I think it's because every time you drop your phone, the glass incurs an amount of tension, which keeps building up until it finally cracks, which could be from a small drop... I'm not sure if I'm right though so don't quote me on this xD
My s7 did that I dropped like a inch i was sitting on the ground and it fell and hit a rock and cracked a little spot on the corner lol
