The Conservatory is definitely a luxurious restaurant but unfortunately the food wasn't the best.
I'd still recommend if you want to visit one the better AYCE in Melbourne.

theres another buffet in crown, kitchen workshop, thats priced very decent, like $35 for dinner (although the desserts are shit). theres also lots of other buffets around melbourne, like newquay in docklands, and melba in langham. maybe you could consider turning it into a series!

The interior is pretty, but $79 is a lot of money for a pretty standard lunch buffet. I think I’d rather spend the money on a feast from one of my favourite local places. You’d get enough food for about 6-8 people for $79. Oh, and Dalena looks lovely in her dress, it’s gorgeous 😊

Personally, buy own same ingredients and cook own.
Most stuff presented is boiled or steamed, look at the prawns.
Not cooked in flavour.
Dalena without fail, every time peeling a prawn and giving first bite to Chonny is the embodiment of true love in my book.

Guys....why not give Malaysian food a try?!! Try nasi lemak with chicken ( coconut milk rice ), laksa noodles, wanton noodles, fried noodles, toast bread with butter and kaya ( coconut + egg). Try Paparich or any Malaysian restaurant and let us see how good is it in Australia!

Glad I waited before adding it to my must do list. Glad you guys are so honest. But seriously it’s Dalena’s first papadum. They’re the sad Indian version of the prawn cracker most time unless they have yummy seeds, but garlic naan rocks. Keep up the good job.

You guys should go to Melba at the Langham Hotel. It's soooo much better... And you'll get more seafood.. including a sashimi station...hot lobster...etc. And a really good Indian station too with made to order Naan.

A place in Fitzroy called Breizoz French Crêperie is a very nice hidden gem, blue cheese and walnut😋😋

I live in england and in Croydon which is part of London we have a global buffet right next to IKEA which is amazing and only £20 per person and you eat all you want. Definitely recommend if you ever come to the UK 😊😊

Gday guys, i enjoyed watching your video. Its great to see that yous tried a lot of dishes there, because you were able to give a broad view of the different foods. Most of all the honest opinions are exactly what i was hoping to see, and you both did a good job of that. I think the crown is way over rated on the website reviews, and people tend to find only the food that they like, so you only see their review of that food. But your video shows your true review of the standard in their quality. I dont mind paying high end prices for restaurant, and buffet foods, if you are getting great all round quality. You want to walk away satified and happy. Nothing worse than walking away after paying big $$$ and still hungry and unhappy! So yeah thank you for sharing a great review! AAA+ NOT B plus again!! Hahaha

If you make an Indian ep - you have to go to Tandoori Den for dinner in Camberwell. I’ve gone to so many Indian restaurants around melbs (and even around the world) and nothing ever comes close!! It’s been my takeaway regular and occasional dinner spot for around 15 years now despite living no where near there. It’s a little pricey but so so worth it.

The best buffet I was ever at was a brunch buffet at the Hotel Langham in Boston. The day before was a chocolate buffet so it was a full delicious brunch buffet with everything being a plus but with the addition of the chocolate buffet from the day before. It's closed due to the pandemic, but if you love chocolate it was amazing. I couldn't partake of it too much since I am diabetic but the brunch buffet was worth the price!

Although you may sound like complete food snobs to us Australian's I think it does companies the world of good to hear honest feedback. You sound well travelled and well versed on your cuisine adventures around the world and feedback like this can only help to give companies a kick up the butt to up their game. Thank you for your honesty and I hope that your feedback gets noticed not only from this establishment but others in Austalia as well otherwise they get too comfortable in their efforts of creating very expensive cuisine.

Best Buffet restaurant is the Melba in the Langham, I went there for my birthday lunch once and it was out of this world, they have a sushi chef making requests, and would cook a wagyu steak in front of you when requested. Wish I could go back

So there’s a new restaurant in Glen Waverley called the boiling crab. You guys should try it since you like seafood so much.
Judging by the amount of food available, you would have been better off going to the Kitchen Workshop (also in Crown). Having worked at Crown, and visited many times since, I've always loved the quality of the food there. Sure, it might be a limited amount of food just like the Conservatory, but is a lot easier on your wallet - and includes all you can drink soft drink, as well. Not many places offer the quality K/W does for $30-$35 a head!
you need to try the all you can eat place called Feast! so much cheaper and a great variety I know its around Melbourne as well
As a kid I used to hide foods I didn't like under my plate. Certainly a nasty surprise
The dirty sea food aftertaste is the best part man, its the briny taste that makes a great oyster and clam.
Me in Ontario Canada, yeah buffet is a dream 2 years away. We're still on our third covid wave lockdown and averaging 3500 cases a day.
