I love sleeping to the sound of rain on my tent. It's so peaceful! Those packet foods don't seem appetizing at all. I'd rather have real food. But then, i camp out of my car, so I have a cooler with me. Can't wait for your next adventure.
I agree - the sound of rain on the tent is wonderful. I hope to cook some real food in the future. The packet foods have way too much calories and stuff in them for me, but they sure are easy to fix. :/
I am perplexed with the tent right along with you. It seems as if maybe there should be some tie off points in the middle of those side sections to tie it off away from the edge of the tent to allow the water to drain off and away from the direct side. But you are right, it is too short. There are some great budget tarps out there, super light and rain proof not just resistant. IMO, something to stuff in your pack for those just in case times. Try to go for a four season tent. The people who walk the AT, Application Trail, only use light stuff. I would rather be protected good. They have insulation for tents too. Have fun. Paul in Ohio

Cover it with a tarp that covers the whole tent and stake the tarp down the tarp can keep u warmer to
