I am an opera fanatic, tenor fanatic to be exact. But I could understand that this program is not expecting the popstars to sing in par with real opera singers~! so, relax, and enjoy the entertainment =)
i totally agree with you, this kind of things gives a wrong image of opera, i'm not working my ass off trainig and practicing for a bunch of amateurs coming to do this!
just watched the "curtain raiser" for Popstar to Operastar, I love how they obviously just rounded up the stage crew to sing in the chorus of the Brindisi. I can totally understand the decision though, the Jenkins bint wouldn't have been able to hold her own among people with any more training. Really looking forward to the series though, and many more weeks of Jenkins-bashing!
why almost everybody here thinks if some amateur start sing in TV after few weeks of training, we have to clap our hands and stand up? If I have a talent for karaoke, well I'll go to club, but I dont make this shit in TV. For next generations, I beg you, please stay in pop music and DON'T mess with classical music.

I think Kym is the best of all the women performers so far. She's a real natural for this and her voice is stunning.
I'd pay money to watch her sing - effortless and beautiful.
