It is definitely a bad master cylinder if your brakes are not able to hold pressure or bleed properly. Also double check that the bleeder screws aren’t too loose when bleeding because it will suck air through the screw threads and into the bleeder hose. It won’t introduce air into the line, but it will look like air coming out even when it isn’t We’ve all failed inspections. Getting it together and running seems like a pain in the ass but it’s really close now.
I went to a car meet in new England in the USA, it was my first ever, and there was an FC there, but multiple people were talking with the owner about your FC restoration project! Anyways I had a touge battle with the guy and it was a blast
Man, I also want to buy an RX-7 FC, but I am super cautious about it, due to the classical issues related with the engine, and due to the little time and knowledge I have regarding the topic. However, when I see your videos it makes me so happy to actually see how it is like to fix one FC, so it kinda keeps my hopes alive, and I always learn new stuff, which I could use if I had one. I dont have time to rebuild a FC but, damn, I sure wish I can find the courage to buy one. Keep up the great videos, and thank you for sharing this (it is also my dream)!
Thanks for the love and support man!🙏 Always so nice to hear other people wanting to get into FC's aswell. I totally understand where you're coming from and I guess the only thing I can add is: There are many people out there talking smack... Many people who don't know much about these engines but love to talk badly about them. These engines are incredibly reliable and it makes me real mad to see people give them such a bad reputation. Sure they have their quirks but nothing you couldn't fix within 1-2 days of work. (Mainly all the vacuum lines, emissions systems and the OMP that injects engine oil directly into the combustion chamber resulting in huge amounts of carbon buildup) If you get rid of these simple things, these engines are not less reliable than a regular piston engine :)
@@moritzherr Thanks 💪 Do you know where can I find any available manuals/instructions that could help learning on how to do that type of maintenance to an FC?
Might get hate for this, but I wish inspections were like this in the US. At least for my state, even our counties that require emissions testing are far too surface level. Always great to know some guy's massive pick-up tailgating me could have fine emission levels and no engine codes, but brake lines that are on the brink of failing and control arms that are nearly rusted through.
Totally agree with you! Here in Germany the emissions tests and the inspection both are very strict. They will sometimes even fail you if your windshield wiper doesn't work. The car must be immaculate.
Totally agree! I'm happy I have a little more time to finish it off properly now :) I'll just bleed the brakes a couple more times I guess as it is getting better and better with every bleed. I'll try to get an appointment for next week tuesday😂
I'm unsure... Even after bleeding the brakes for 3 times, there is still air coming. And after every bleed, the pedal gets better and better which tells me it should just be an air issue. Super weird though - In moments like these I wish I had no ABS😂 Would be much easier to bleed!
@@rwdplz1 It's not a new master cylinder and I simply flushed the fluid. It was bolted to the car at all times with no air coming in. It is also not leaking from the outside at least so I really don't know what to do🥲
I new from the beginning you must be german speaking because of that accent 😂 but the license plate did make me unsure, until you started talking to your buddy😂 Well, Hallo aus Deutschland 😂
For now I am leaving it as it is as the Turbo II brakes are already pretty overkill for this little car😂 4 piston in the front with some relatively big discs is more than enough for such a light car. At least for now ;) Many people actually put the RX-7 brakes on their BMW E30 because they are pretty good.
Absolutely! I was thinking about getting the S1 3P as I believe these are the ones ryosuke is running in the early stages. But I opted to go for a different set of classic rims which are also true to the early stages of the Anime😁
TPS is shot, probably corroded internally, you can tell the way the multimeter doesn't smoothly go up through the range and has a bunch of holes in it.
Absolutely shot😂 Already ordered a new one. I will definetly open up the old one though to see if these things are cleanable/repairable and share my experience in the next video. If these things are actually reparable it would be some valuable info for the rotary community as these things are just hilariously expensive.
Man I would hate living somewhere with these inspections. We can get away with everything here in the US (Besides CA). Are you on the stock ECU? I have Rtek 2.1, this could be a good idea if you're not allowed to go stand alone. That's what I'm on.
Yeah it is a real pain but in general I have to say that I prefer having more strict inspections especially for safety related things. It definetly has its purpose :)
@@moritzherr I'm sure it serves a purpose but I think if we always did things for that reason the world would be very boring. Next thing you know cars are speed limited by GPS etc and sure it's safer but that's not a future I want.
@@supradoom Very true but what I mean regarding safety is that I personally think it makes sense that inspections are strict about rust, brakes etc. Just strictly checking the basic safety features of the car. There are plenty of countries that don't have these types of inspections and tbh I wouldn't want to drive my car there because I don't want anyone to crash into me because the brakes of their rusty sh**box failed😂
@@moritzherr I understand that. I guess that's the risk, but for me I'll take it so I can get away with some stuff. I've had good luck with nothing bad happening beyond bad drivers.

which gas do you use?
98 octane with 1oz 2 stroke oil per gallon (600ml per gas tank).
Usually I use 102 octane but currently it's pretty pricey in Germany.
Heard u gotta get the car very warm to calibrate the TPs if not u will get a wrong reading
You only need to warm up the car, if the Thermowax on the TB is still in tact. I removed it so no need to warm it up :)
woher bekommt man so einen neuen tps sensor?
Entweder bei Atkins, beim Mazda Händler oder du bekommst durch Kontakte einen Gebrauchten :) Kosten leider enorm viel...
Wird schon klappen.
Ich hoff's🥲
