Very informative, thank you. I like the Golden Visa but there's one huge factor that's discouraging to me, and that the Spain government should consider changing. It's this "rule" that married couples must be married under what's called Community of Property in order to both get your names on the deed, If you're NOT married under Community of Property back in your home country, or like in U.S.A. where only a handful of States have Community of Property (Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin) for the rest of us like in New York well then only ONE gets to put the name on the deed to invest 500 euros. If you buy a property NOT knowing this and turns out you were NOT married under community of property, well that presents a huge problem. That's no a fair financial dilemma to put on couples and it's discouraging because it can be divisive. I wouldn't want the whole property just under my name, God forbid something happens to me then my husband and my kids would have to deal with all that paperwork and legal fees. So, if you're a couple wanting to both put your names on the deed and if you're not married under Community of Property then you need to invest 1 Million Euros. I would love to be wrong about this research, if the laws have changed since I last checked please let me know.
There are always the greedy people who take advantage of things that ruin it for everyone else. We really want to move to Spain in 2-3 years and to live in the property we buy
A good option is The Spanish Non Lucrative Visa. This is a non working visa that provides an expedited path to Spanish citizenship for LatAm citizens. We can help.

Us too! They just need to change the rule where you have to make Spain your primary residence for tax purposes. Problem solved!
If we stay all year and become a tax resident, will we get double taxed on our usa business income?!
