I have a lot of experience fishing small trout streams for those finicky native trout! definitely try a "panther Martin spinner with black body that has a gold blade and gold dots" smallest size you can find or the plain gold panther martins. another good one are "roostertail" spinners, but any black color with preferably gold blade or silver will work. you also want the smallest size you can find. my favorite rooster tail for trout is a black body and gold blade. they're very hard to find, but I promise you will slay trout like no other. the key is black and gold or yellow/brown and similar colors. these memik may Flys and salamanders. if you want to catch a monster brown trout out of huge hole you know of. find a fat salamander and use him as bait! trout love salamanders

I don't know if the Little Blue River had trout as the river levels and flows dropped in the Summer and temps might not have been survivable. BTW, where in Nebraska is this stream? After, or even during rain, I fish a little creek about half the size of the one fished here. I throw worms on a #10 Mosquito hook with no weight and 2-4 lb line. It works every time, but it is awesome when it rains. I've caught 3 Browns over 15" this way in the past year with the average being less than 12". I caught fish this way in January/February last winter while it was snowing, but it was tough to cast when the line would freeze to the guides. For all the whiners out there, worry about handling the fish that you catch. These fish belonged to the man who caught them, he can do whatever he wants to do with them, (perhaps a branding iron before releasing). I will kill and release a couple for you guys. Loved the video.. always fun trying something new.. I myself went to cullman AL to fish the sipsey fork for rainbows about a month ago.. they are stocked trout and the water stays around 50° year round.. had a blast even though I got skunked. New experience and will be trying it again soon
More trout less bass. Not that the bass videos aren't good or fun, they are, they're just not useful to us trout fisherpersons. Some of us live in parts of the country where there just aren't that many places to fish for bass, but there are trout fisheries everywhere. Good point waiting for them to eat the bait BTW. They'll keep salmon eggs, no hurry setting the hook if your keeping them. They'll eat them all the way down. As a kid I used to catch my limit in a couple of hours on salmon eggs and never set a hook.
Great looking stream! That looks just like the streams I use to fish as a kid in Colorado. Hard fishing, but rewarding. Nice sandy bottom too. Should look for some washed up arrow heads while walking it.
actual salmon eggs work better (get bait netting and magic tie string and tie up a small bunch of them, at the end of the season you cure them) edit 2(also you don't reel them in like bass, you tire them out and pull them in, I have caught 15-20 lb salmon/trout on 10 lb test and that's what makes it better because they can't see it as easy
Great video yet again! But I fish the upper stream quite often and I'd suggest not wadding in the water the entire time. Creeping along the bank and drifting the lure under cover will produce much better results

Why didn't you start up stream and walk down so your bait is going with the current and put the weights like 8in up from your bait so it's not laying on the bottom
