19:55 The I-94 M-10 interchange was the first full freeway-to-freeway interchange built in the United States all the way back in 1953. It features fully directional ramps with left and right exits and entrances. At the time this was considered innovative, and is still an impressive engineering achievement, but today we know that directional ramps with left-hand exits and merges can be quite frustrating, especially in urban settings. Michigan seems to have had a thing for left-hand exits back in the day, as there are many interchanges throughout the state that feature left exits, including in rural areas.

MDoT will reconfigure that interchange starting in 2027. Left exits are a hallmark of early freeway design.

@3:15, I love it when Interstates have a super wide median. Little chance of a vehicle crossing over and at night headlights aren't directly in your face. Kudo's to the designers of the Interstate system, they did not half-ass this project and keep improving.

They need to put the metal light poles with LED lamps on I-94 between Chene Street and Conner Avenue on Detroit’s east side. It has been more then 10 years for the temporary LED lights and need to be replace.

NO. LEDs are terrible on the eyes of late night drivers.

You entered the freeway at Haggerty rd (quit changing what I typed TH-cam). I used to work at the Banking Center their and I taught a banking course at WCCCD at the campus counter corner to the bank. Small world!
The thumbnail photo is the entrance from I-75 to I-94 and it still shows the exit at Russell street. It was the exit for my old church. Back in the early 80s.
So much of the businesses and churches in the inner city was lost over the years as the city began to rust.

The pavement sounds here are similar to the ones in North Carolina especially Greensboro and Brunswick Georgia. Though I think the potholes need to be fixed

Detroit has to be the most (road) unequal American city I've seen. Some roads are butter smooth and brand new, while others are decades old and full of potholes and damage.
