I love that the recommended age is 6+ and the box is over $600. Tells you a lot about how the hobby has changed.
They also make $30 boxes for kids and even individual fat packs and retail packs for $5 and $10.

That's not the "best" card since it's numbered to 250. There are plenty of other parallels and prospecting is always a long road. There could be 20 guys worth more than Jenkins in 3 years. But I agree with the overall point that buying wax is usually burning money.
Man, at $600 you have almost zero chance of recouping your money. The prices continue to be out of control.
How do people make money on these? The chances of Jenkins becoming some big player have to be incredibly low.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of the non chrome (cardboard) products, but both this Bowman set and even Topps Series 1 both look very nice. Topps heritage is a funny one for me. Despite it being non chrome, I'm a big fan of the autographs in that set, especially for my guy, lol....the odds are tough to get autos in heritage, so maybe that's why I give that product a pass too. I love chrome sets and other higher end sets. Congrats on that one auto! Never heard of him before, but I would send into PSA under the express tier ($75-129 per card) for the 10 day turnaround time, then sell faster than ASAP!!

Walker Jenkins is the REAL deal. Listen to one of his interviews. This guy is Captain America defined. He will be outstanding in the Bigs.
Druw Jones supposedly was the big deal, along with Jackson Holliday. Even Julio has seemingly plateaued. Players in my opinion need 3-4 years at the major league level before I would say they are the real deal. Remember Kyle Lewis, one good year, now nothing

It’s called prospecting, and this is a prospecting product. That’s why they have charts of the Top 100 prospect players.
People will spend a grand on a card that has a huge chance of being worth $2 one day.
There always has to be a chase in order for topps to sell product and for breakers to sell spots, even if some of the hyped up guys don’t pan out.
Have you heard Jenkins talk? He has it all. Jenkins is going to be the most popular player in baseball within 5 years.

It's rare that we see Indian names in professional baseball, so I can see why you would default to a Spanish pronunciation, but "Arjun" is pronounced with a "dj" sound.

"Arjun" to "Arhun" switches a voiced alveolar affricate for a glottal fricative, but I switched a voiced alveolar plosive to a voiced bilabial plosive because my main point is that "b" and "d" are different phonemes in English the same way that "j" and "h" are different phonemes in Indian languages. If it was hard for an English speaker to pronounce the voiced alveolar affricate, I would understand, but it's a sound you already know and use frequently.
