Married 29 years 27 years sexless marriage. I am completely unfulfilled in marriage in every way. My wife hasent dolled herself for me even one since we got married. I stay in the marriage for our kids, They are both grown and on their own since 2010. I want a divorce but I cant afford it as I have been unemployed for two and a half years.
Absolutely true, not that love is a bad thing, but certainly doesn't have much worth either, respect me and I am good to go. I think this is what makes the problem so difficult to overcome, women have little if any concept of what respect is from a mans perspective. Therefore there are two issues, firstly, if a man expresses something done that he considered disrespectful, all too often it is trivialized by his partner, and he is there fore in essence shamed for having illegitimate feelings. Secondly, since respect is not that important to woman, they are generally unable to grasp what it truly is from a mans perspective. The story you told about the man that gave his children juice rather than milk at bed time is/was a perfect example. In essence what that guys wife was saying to him was he wasn't smart enough to make such an important decision.
This lady gets it! Thanks Shaunti for doing the work you're doing. You're actually understanding men, and you're explaining it well.
