    I'm glaad you also show how you bypass the errors that occur, and don't just skip them. Awesome tutorial once again!

      Thanks! Yes the "coding part" of the tutorial is "live" so you never know what can happen

    Great videos !!! I am a total beginner and trying to make some project involving two pumps, voltage steered, some magnetic valves, 4-20mA sensors , and one more device that I have to communicate with over PROFINET.
    Would you recommend SIEMENS or BECKHOFF ?

    Excellent tutorial yet again! Thanks, Jakob! Do you have any plans of expanding this to show how to protect the FBs to "hide" the inner workings so that distributing the library to external companies doesn't expose the intellectual property inside? I'd like to have a ready to go solution to hand to integrators or customers so they can interface to our machinery and equipment without any hassles. I've heard that the future of controls and automation will be that purchasing an I/O device or automated machine will include the software library to communicate with it. Why have every developer create their own FB again and again and again?

      Hey Brandon! Happy you find my course useful. I'd like to do more videos, and your suggested topic is a very important one. But the issue is that there is so much to do, and so little time. Will think about it!

    Very good and practical. How can we transfer that library to another PC ?

    • @JakobSagatowski
      @JakobSagatowski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Bernard. You just copy the library or compiled-library file over

    I created a Class with a few public methods in a project. After that, similarly to what you shown in the video, I created a library (from this class) and added it to the library repository . But when I tried to re-use this class in another project, I do not see neither the class or methods within the CONTENTS of the library. I only see the library information and project information folders with its contents. Any idea how to make this work for classes?

      Never mind, I figured it out. I am using CODESYS and you have to place the class inside the POUs tab, then it will work fine. Thanks for the video, it really helped a lot, CODESYS documentation is a nightmare.

      Good that you figured it out!

    Hi, As you already make it free, is it possible to have a certification after completion your videos in your website. I think that will work for many to get motivation as I can complete it so far.. :)

    • @JakobSagatowski
      @JakobSagatowski  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can, after passing a certification test. Contact me for the details.

    I just enjoy every video of yours :). I understand its foundation tutorial yet I wish you would show us how to write documentation for the libraries. It's new for OT developers and there is not much tutorial out there for this topic or do they?

    • @JakobSagatowski
      @JakobSagatowski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Proper documentation for the library with explanations of the API for the code is just as essential as the code itself. I'd say it's the same practices should apply for OT as IT in this aspect. Thanks for supporting this channel!

    Hello @Jakob,
    As always great job, can you explain the difference between the library and what are the compiled-library?,
    can we have the source code again if we only have the library?
    thanks you...
