I started crocheting 2 months ago, I thought this would be too much or too complicated, but I just finished this one after one month, it could’ve been done earlier but I was a bit burned out. I had some struggles but it turned out perfect 🥰
As a beginner, when I saw chain 90 at the beginning, my jaw dropped 😭 I have never done a pattern with such a big start! I definitely want to try this but maybe when I get a little better 😅
Try a sample square project. There’s tons of designs where you do one square at a time to learn a new stitch for each small square and then put them together. It’s not so overwhelming and you learn so much. That’s what helped me the most to up my crocheting. Don’t worry about it being perfect. Just have fun.
I'm a beginner and in my second attempt I did a project with 125 chains so it's not that hard it's just takes time so someone with little patience might not commit to finish the work when it's too long
The way you attached the front panels to the back is PURE GENIUS!! I wanna make this!! Or a version of this. Without the collar. Thank you so much for this video
i am working on it rn and did 90 chains and its relatively short on me, though i do have a long torso, it goes up to my hips, so if you're tall or have a long torso i suggest doing 100 chains instead of 90 (for reference im 5'4.5 and have a torso length of 22 inches while the average for females is 16.5-19") so hope this is helpful
thank you so much, I'm wondering if I should have more chains because I use a 4,5mm hook and I am tall, 90 chains aren't as long as I expect, maybe I should do 110 chains
Thank you for sharing such a lovely pattern and detailed tutorial! Definitely putting this on my list to crochet next. I'm excited for the final result!
Love this! Actually making it for my father for Father’s Day, the technique is SO pretty! And the pattern is simple enough that I feel like I can straighten out the sleeves and just add some overall length while still following along just fine. It’s actually a very similar size considering his will be more fitted! Thank you!!
For a beginner, you have done brilliantly!!! Your project was well thought out. Well done, my friend and keep up the good work. You're an inspiration!! Ten out of ten to you. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I'm wanting to make me and my mom matching cardigans as well as a ton of other crochet stuff for my family for Christmas. Im starting now and I know my mom will love the style of the cardigan I think I'll do the ribbing separate so I can do a different color and to ensure the cardigan is secure
Oh Man! Thank you for this! I did a few rows of the front panel and then realized I made a mistake attaching it to the back and have too many extra rows (hopefully not too noticeable). Now I have to improvise the other front panel. 😅 I hope I can do better next time! Really cute pattern!
Thanks for sharing. I was looking for a stich that will look nice and simple with black yarn. I like the way you joined the front and back panels! And I would like to share a tip with you too, There's a way called (short-row) will be a good method for the ribbing edge as well.
For least amount of seams I go with the "U" as base - back and 2 front sides. Connect them leaving openings for arms. Then use the existing side stitches to start and finish the arms. This way the only seams you have are the ones running from your armpits to hips.
Hi guys anyone from the uk made this yet . What yarn did you use . I am from the uk and want to make this but struggling to find the correct yarn . The yarn used in the video is medium weight acrylic but it looks quite chunky and the medium weight i am finding looks thinnner than the one in the video.
Same issue here, I’m not from the UK but Im also using yarn that’s medium weight. I just used a 5.00mm hook instead of the 6.00mm she uses in the video. I also increased the number of chains and stitches in certain parts to achieve the fit I wanted. Hope this helps!
heyy i love this pattern, im jusr confused at how you ended up on the inside of the sleeves part when you did 80 rows. shouldn’t the last row end up on the cuff side instead of the body panel side? sorry if my question was confusing, it would be great if you could explain it for me❤❤❤
@@CherilynQ that's alright, i just added one row on the top where the shoulder is, and shrunk it back down after while doing the single crochets for the cuff. thanks though!
Hey! Love this cardigan so far. Mine is super wonky but hoping it’ll straighten out once I block it!😂 How far apart did you do the buttons on your cardigan? I’m unsure where to place them :) x
Mind if I asked what is the type of yarn used for this cardigan? I'm a newbie in crocheting. So far, the only type.of yarn I know is 5 ply milk cotton yarn
Hello! I hope you are doing fine 🫶🏻 I have a question, what temprature is right for blocking? I’ve never done it so I don’t know if I should use hot or cold water Thanks in advance! ❤
The material doesn't matter as much as the weight of yarn. If it's thinner than mine, then 90 chains will be shorter than me, and vice versa. It's really up to you depending on how long you want the cardigan to be.
I am working on this cardigan, and it is amazing. But I just realize it is not as soft as I saw from the video. I used the same yarn and crochet hook, so I am confused. And I noticed that you soften it at the very end. Can I know what type of product did you use?
hello! i'm starting this project with two different colored yarns. i wanted the ribbing to be blue while the main piece is beige. does anyone have any tips on how to make the ribbing and main piece different colors??
I'm thinking about doing that too. What I'm thinking is, 1) you can be the chain first, then when you get to the last 10 for the ribbing, change colors ( form a loop with the blue yarn, pull it through the last 2 loops of the baige) and then just keep going back and forth, picking up and dropping the color. OR 2) chain 10 blue, pull through a loop of beige on chain 10, then just keep chaining 80+ chains of beige and keep switching colors like that.. if that makes sense
Hey hope you’re doing good Quick question if I wanna make this into a sweater(no buttons), will it work if I make two back panels and just connect those two together?
Heyyy!is there ANY beginner who made this?? should i do this as my very first clothing project?alsooo..sry i didn't see the video carefully....how much yarn is to be needed?
@@DolsySingla I’m definitely not a beginner but the crochet pattern is very repetitive and easy to understand. You may have some issues when it comes to counting stitches on the ends. I altered the jacket to fit me more tightly and it took about two full one pound Caron yarns. If you are making it oversized, expect to buy three.
Doesnt the pattern of the V on the back become upside down? Ive twisted and turned while making the front panel but it becomes upside down while the front is correct Is that correct? 😅
Yeah, I remember noticing that but I didn't see it as a problem. I'm pretty sure the only way to fix that is by placing the ribbing on the other end of the panel.
