My own favorite of Swamiji's singing was/is 'Raamam Ghanashyamam' in Raga Bageshri - I can hear it in my ear even now...I had the good fortune to play tabla for the evening prayers at the ashram, around late 60s and 70s.
Transports us to a different world. Mesmerising voice. Brings so much peace to oneself. This can come with absolute selflessness and a deep sense of doing good to everyone. The Ramakrishna Mission and its monks are the most selfless individuals one can come across in this world.
I am fortunate to have known some monks of the Ramakrishna mission personally, including Swami Purushottamananda. Your observations are quite accurate.
