- Treo - Mahindra’s first low maintenance Li-thium ion battery powered three wheeler is aptly named Treo.
The Mahindra Treo electric rickshaw has been designed and developed to promote mass adoption of electric vehicles in the country and Mahindra expects it to play a critical role in solving the last mile connectivity puzzle in the Indian cities.
Treo’s drive-train comprises of a brushless DC motor which draws its power from a Lithium ion battery. The Treo can accommodate 4 adults (1 Driver + 3 passengers) and has an expected range of 110 km on one full charge.
A hydraulic brakes setup looks into the braking duties for the 3-wheeler whose top speed is 45 kmph. A full charge for the Treo takes 5 hours with a 2kW charger. The Treo comes along with a feature to swap batteries once they get discharged.
