Philip Smith, Trumpet: "Why I Love Jesus" - Solo preceded by faith talk and song description

I believe the was 1984 for this recital at the International Trumpet Guild conference. At that time Smith was principal trumpet in the N.Y. Philharmonic AND solo cornet with the New York Staff Band of the Salvation Army. He gives an informative introduction before he plays, regarding his background and about Llewellyn.

You don't understand the impact that this had on me. Mr. Smith was already at the top of my list of favorite orchestral trumpet players but man it's so great to know that we have a mutual friend.
