I love this kind of chatty video, particularly when it's anything to do with a Morris. I have a lovely 1963 convertible called Dotty and I use her all year round. There is not greater pleasure than a top down twilight drive in the summer and a cozy Christmas shopping drive in the winter. So much character. Thanks for your thoughts and I look forward to hearing more. I have a channel too and I really must encorporate Dotty into it more. Happy driving x
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! Dotty is such a wonderful name for a Morris and the convertibles are so gorgeous - I do get a little jealous when the weather is lovely in the summer of those with convertibles! I'd definitely encourage you to get Dotty on your channel too. Happy motoring to you!
@@crashbox7130 What a fantastic collection of cars! I grew up around a lot of '30s cars (Singers mostly) and had a family friend with a Morris 8 - Morris really made some gorgeous cars in their time!
My first car was a 1958 Morris Minor 1000. I was adamant to have one after I finished high-school and I've owned her for 6 glorious years now. However since I'm now doing trips of more the 45km twice a day for work reasons. I'm considering getting another Moggy and doing a few modifications as a large portion of that driving is stop and start traffic. Just found your channel and loving the vids! Hello form SA👋
Congratulations on 6 years with your Minor! I'm sure it's loving its regular use, but from what I've hear you can never have too many of them! Welcome to the chanel and I hope you continue to enjoy!
Fantastic first episode. Very informative indeed and really interesting. My Cortina Journey started back when I was a teenager in the 90's. I Found one eventually via a TH-camr Who had saved the car from the banger track/ scrapyard. The car was once a CO-OP tv repair car in the 70's and had been left for dead in a workshop from 1977 till 2017. I was very emotional when I bought the car and yes I did get rather attached to it before I had even seen it in the metal.
Lovely blog - hope to see/hear more. Some interesting parallels - my first car in 1970 was a Mk1 Singer Gazelle of 1958 vintage. Had it for a year before selling it on. Time warp 50 years and I have a Morris Traveller and Triumph Herald 13/60 in the garage........all converted to LHD for usage here in Germany!
Wow what a fantastic variety of cars you've owned-what sort of differences can you notice between the Gazelle and Traveller? If you've just found me, you'll hopefully find lots more on my channel of interest to you!
@@passengerseatpodcast Thank you for replying to me. The Gazelle , as I remember it, was a far more solid and heavier car than the Morris Traveller and had a column gear shift. I also have an Austin 8 Traveller of 1947 vintage but unlike yourself, none are daily drivers and indeed are in winter hibernation at the moment - we have 20 cm of snow outside.
What a pleasant intro to your car and useful advice too. Also what a brilliant set of choices, my first car was a Singer Gazelle (when I was 10!) and at University I wanted nothing more than a Herald (and a Rover 3.5 Coupe!) but felt they were too prone to rust or thirsty, bought an Austin Healey Sprite (also rusty and v small) and then also settled on a (Trafalgar Blue) Minor, 5 speed but a convertible, called Humfrey (after the exhaust note "humf, humf, humf"). We've been on very similar car desire journey albeit 30 years ago for me! I genuinely believe a Minor is the most perfect car ever!
@@passengerseatpodcast Oh sorry if I confused, they are not a "collection" of cars, merely a linear series of purchases and then sales. My only car now is my Minor, and hopefully that's for ever. It's all I need in one sweet package albeit heavily modified to warrant being hissed at by Morris collectors! Ouch!

I had a 1961 Convertible. I now own a 1988 2CV and a 1932 Morris Minor Two-Seater (think pre-war MG, just slower).

I'm having a 1970 4 door restored. I will become the proud owner on 12th August 2021. I can't wait.
Fantastic! You will have so much fun!

Its so easy to get attached to a car, even without seeing it! Glad you're enjoying catching up on the previous episodes!
@@passengerseatpodcast I have to admit I like your presentation style and I'm kinda binge watching/listening.

You go girl! Way to go!
You won't find an easier classic to live with than a Morris 1000 post 62. Upgrade the brakes to servo assist with disc brakes and you're all set
It's really been quite a comfortable car to live with! She's got a brake servo already and I find it works well enough 😊
