This song always brings me chills & a tear to my eye. As a recovering addict, noone can truly understand what you're going through, unless they ran through the mud. To be able to find that someone that has & have that real connection with is truly a blessing, because when those demons come up again, trying to fight them off on your own isn't easy, but when you have each other, thats all we have. Together we fail, together we succeed, but the key word is together. We all have something to offer. We just need to dig a little bit harder to find it, to discover that better version of yourself. Im truly blessed to have found it, to have found that someone
I am a recovering addict and a million percent agree. When I was trying my hardest to just survive, this song hit me hard. It saved me through many dark days. ❤️
One of the coolest songs I've heard by Incubus is 'Dig'. It's a beautiful acknowledgment of one's humanity, and how much we all need to rely on our friends and family to help keep us grounded... but also to remind them to extend to us grace, forgiveness, and mercy when we lose our own way. It speaks to the importance of forgiveness and compassion. My favorite line from this song is: "So when weakness turns my ego up, I know you'll count on the Me From Yesterday. If I turn into another, dig me up from under what is covering the better part of me."
This song was picked to be my Sister, Brother and My song... We all 3 were deep in addiction... My brother ended up overdosing and passed away... Even though it's really hard to listen to this I love every word... RIP David 💔
For some reason I thought my favorite incubus's song was "wish you were here" but today I was listening randomly to their music and this one really resonates with me, made feel things, I can't stop listening to it.
"i know youll count on the me from yesterday if i turn into another dig me up from under what is covering the better part of me." im not ashamed to say this song put a tear in my eye. any song that reminds me of my addiction hits me in the feels
@@joemother3670absolutely & I was changing at the time & not in a good way & wanted my husband to dig me up to the old me. He didn’t connect it. We divorced & I plummeted.
This song hits so hard. It came out when I started pills. I became a diff person & deciided to leave my husband of 15 yrs w my 2 little children. This song was me telling him to dig up the old me, bring me back, remind me what we had, get the old me back. I played it over & over to him but didn’t tell him what it meant. I figured if he “gets it “ I stay, if not, “I go”. He didn’t & we divorced. I ended up w an abusive 2nd husband & huge dru& addiction bc he was already. I don’t love this man. I want my old life back SOOO BAD or I don’t want life at all. But, it’s over. Kids are grown & gone. I guess this is my karma. This isn’t even an 1/8 of the trauma that followed. 💔
It's too bad my friends [most of them] don't get 'IT' when I play this song. They prefer rap and all its F-bombs, A-bombs, B-bombs, C-bombs, N-bombs, and violent lyrics. It's no wonder they lie, steal, cheat, & hurt each other CONSTANTLY. I could listen to Dig, Drive, Megalomaniac, Talk Show on Mute, and Glass all day! They don't get it!

It is. You just have to find those people and love them like you would want to be loved. A true friend is faithful through the worst. Sometimes you just have to be brave and take the first step.
I share this song with my daughter's mother, we are separated. She is happily remarried and has nothing to do with myself or her daughter. But even then I listen to the song and I miss her I wish things were different. Because she was my another when everything else is gone. And now it's all gone

This song is a plea to keep the sickness of ego at bay so we can love and support the people around us.
My younger sister said this is our song, it always brings tears to my eyes, as she is just so sweet… and I love her so much…

Songs for Friends always make me smile
Amen. I am here because of my best friend.
This song is me, talking into a mirror. When everything else is gone, that's all I'm going to find.
This going to be a beautiful beginning to a never ending story and very important chapter of my life 😅
My friend sent me this song & when I hear it. I think of her.
It dug me up from where I was, Masterpiece.❤❤
We have these lyrics framed in our house. This isn't just the most amazing arrangement, it's reflective , so be better to the ones you love.
