He’s hitting that torch lighter right up on the foot. I would think that burns it - perhaps what caused the bitterness in the first?

dude tell your cameraman to calm it down. No need for the constant closeups and weird angles at straight shot fixed position is fine.
Also keep up the cigar stuff love seeing it

"it's a bit acidic" maybe it's because he's blowing through them... Every video I see of James he lights them so aggressively and smokes them insanely fast. A Cohibo Robusto should probably be an hour.

Yeah I’m surprised such an aficionado just torches it light that

I remember buying a box of Cohibas in Cancun for $300 US dollars. I wonder how much they cost nowadays.

The Maduro 5 line are fairly one dimensional, coffee bean and cocoa type flavour profile with plenty of sweetness. However with long term ageing they generally transform into quite a different flavour profile all together, more along the lines of the regular Cohiba blends.
While I would say tentatively that I prefer, generally, the Cohiba Robusto I also know full well as a cigar smoker that it entirely depends on the given batch/box of cigars. One CoRo can be rich, complex and delicious with a great burn and draw while another, even from the same box, can be harsh, poorly blended/rolled with a bitterness and grubbiness. Sometimes the batch of leaves at a given factory on a given day can have some bad leaf in it (not necessarily intentionally but that's just the nature of overproducing fine hand made cigars), and ontop of that some of the cigars are rolled with twists in the filler or clumps that block the draw. The exact same exquisite blend of high quality leaf rolled well and rolled badly can make the cigar taste completely different. A twist in the bunch can cause a restricted draw, build up of oils, hotness, harshness, bitterness.. while the exact same blend rolled properly will give beautiful, rich and complex flavours.

I have just try the Cohiba Rubusto and it was very nice but it didn't knock Don Tomas classic robusto from my #1 spot

I have smoked some Cuban cigars, and I hardly ever had a bitter Cohiba tasted on the finish. I think you had those cigars out of the humidor for more than three days, which makes the tobacco bitter. Any cigar, not just Cubans will taste bitter if they sit out of the humidor for more the three days. I always tell my friends when I give them a cigar, smoke it right away or put in the humidor but don't smoke them after sitting out of the humidor because the taste won't be the same. It's like milk, being outside the refrigerator will taste bad, but will stay fresh inside the fridge.
