He's in Kendrick's camp, and he had an interview saying a bunch of shit, including that Schoolboy Q tipped Cole off and told him that shit was about to go left. Idk how much stock people put into it, but if it's true, J Cole should be given more grace
I always thought some of the initial shots were fired as early as Rigamortis. “Aim it at your celebrity this is studio felony” “Tellin me that you biting styles you got a hell of an appetite” Could be general braggadocio, but I always viewed it as taking aim at Drake
34:31 Aubrey signed a $400m deal with umg that requires him to put out a certain number of albums within a certain timeframe…not sure of other details, but definitely a reason he needs to be out in peoples’ face all the time vs Kendrick with the industry having significantly less of a hold on his career/life (not to mention his deep songwriting- pen game out of this world) he can afford to take his time & write music when he wants, not when he’s told. Kendrick ain’t no slave to colonialism. Same with the comparison of Michael vs Prince…. Industry slave vs independent rebel
This beef coming to a public head has really opened my eyes in the sense that I always thought it was like the unsaid rule and general consensus amongst hip hop/ black culture that kendrick was the actual new age king of hip hop and Drake was like the act as a stand in /fill in/cover/stand in basically like the substitute teacher as if Kendrick would birth a kid and go on maternity leave, yall know the classroom gets busy AF when the sub is in, damn near watching movies and running round the halls, barely staying on curriculum schedule and basically dumbing down a bit and just being given fun text books and computer time to keep up entertained and quiet and stop us from bothering the sub and asking too many questions..... iyk.....come to find out either its all Drake STANS [which are like mini hims ,ale or female in a lot of aspects] or a lot of people believed Drake was the best Rapper but i think they mistake that with overall artist... even though Drakes hits chart or otherwise should mostly be credited to his beats, as an original ORIGINAL GRASS ROOTS fan/supporter id go as far as saying 40% bars 60%beat but at most 50/50, his season 1 Aubrey was heavily carried by 40, though he had the artistic intelligence to know how to take the beat to the next level with the content he selected for each one [and im saying this, putting the ghost writing portion out of it]. ....It actuually makes me sad for him because he let this insecure Ego get so big that he allowed the industry and his "peers" lead him astray and have him fucked up, not to say some of his current character wasnt always there. iykyk Drake from early he's always been a bit of a c*cky, petty, childish boy but openly honest which made him endearing, and he walked up on the wrong nigha puffed up with J.Prince, money and Fan hype air in both his lungs only to get stabbed with a samurai sword in both
Sheeeeesh !!! Ppl did get disillusioned into thinking Drake was the best because he had built his stardom up outside of hiphop, but purely rapping and as an hiphop artist, it was never really in question of who was the best, it was about who was the biggest and letting numbers lead the conversation to support that claim.
@@wearedecyphered I would love to hear y'alls opinions on Lupe Fiasco's recent comments on the beef/who the King of Hip Hop is. He was on Curtis King's show, and I've got to admit that I bailed about 1 hour and 10 minutes into the conversation, LOL!
New sub, have yall watched Marcellius Wiley's explanation of what happened in 2014 when Drake hosted the Espy's? He gave allll the deets on his on YT about how he told TDE what Drake said right after he said it, so Kendrick already knew what time Drake was on. Annnnnnnd... Kendrick already had connections with Daylyt from battle rapping years before. I think Kendrick always knew that Daylyt wrote Back to Back for Drake and just kept it in his pocket.
I think Drake started fucking with Cole because he lost his allegiance with The Weeknd, lost his allegiance with Kanye, Wayne's star has dimmed to an extent and he looked around and knew he needed some sort of star ally in the space which is why he ended up trying to run back to the Big 3
Also some of that Red Button stuff ...I actually think it was for Joe Budden. Budden talking all that shit about how Drake can't rap anymore is what prompted Scary Hours 3 to even exist

@@wearedecyphered drama started telling people about the ghostwriters because Drake had messed with his wife/fiancé and so Drake dissing in the song probably came as a response to drama telling everybody his business
33:00 mark onwards TALK THAT TALK ! Its the insecurity and frustration in him of wanting to be loved above all and everyone else...I honestly feel like it stems from his childhood...but thats a whole other topic ,,, but i honestly feel like in every milestone and crucial stage of his life/career hes been seeking validation, acceptance and/or love from others, that he cant genuinely and truthfully look for in himself..... and then seeing KENDRICK GET IT??! someone who hit the mainstream limelight not too long after him, from supporting him, to get it instantly from the community he's ALWAYS been wanting it from, woke his demons like the Nine Tail Fox my nigha, his demons took advantage of alllll his emotions and then starts the journey off mimicking and seeking street affiliation and validation because in his lil half jewish disconnected mind he thought black people were just like the hood movies [ he probably salivated over on weekend, practicing how to show be a "real nigha" when maybe his father neglected him and didnt come pick him up on, ]

I think Daylite is the mole! Daylite been shooting shots at Drake for a long time. Bro listen to that track called “Son of a Gun” by Cambatta fet Daylite 🔥 🔥! Daylite said “folders of you folded in it”! This was out before the battle. Yea this beef been going on for a min. Drake made it seem like it was just some “rap battle” but this shit deeper than just a battle
Some of the best analyses on the web.
But DAMN has MAD shots at Drake.
A great recap. Can't wait to watch pt. 2.
Thank you for this detailed information on the history of the beef!
I know I'm late lol
I get what DJ is saying at 7:25 and all that, but idk if you guys heard what Coolee came out and said. He's in Kendrick's camp, and he had an interview saying a bunch of shit, including that Schoolboy Q tipped Cole off and told him that shit was about to go left. Idk how much stock people put into it, but if it's true, J Cole should be given more grace
Yeah I think that was after this was recorded though.
Well researched, well written and well presented my friends.
Much appreciated! Hope you enjoy the rest of the content we have here as well !
You guys earned a sub from me
PREAAAAAAAAAAAACH 🙌🙌🙌
Hey thanks for the video 😊
Thanks hope you enjoy part 2 as well
Let’s go!!!!!
Excellent breakdown, but I’m blaming the discussion at around 36:00 for making me take an early lunch 😭 Made me so hungry
😂😂😂😂😂
I always thought some of the initial shots were fired as early as Rigamortis.
“Aim it at your celebrity this is studio felony”
“Tellin me that you biting styles you got a hell of an appetite”
Could be general braggadocio, but I always viewed it as taking aim at Drake
I appreciate this breakdown
Hi! Great breakdown!
Great video guys
Great review!
This is good! Very insightful!!
That makes a ton of sense. Great way to tie that back to Prince n Mike too!!
I saw it after we filmed this episode but Wiley sounded so weird about it, I kinda felt like he was lyin … it was weird
@@wearedecyphered He has CTE.... kinda messes up his delivery from time to time.
Makes sense in hindsight.
Perfectly explained
Much appreciated! 🤝🏾
Kendrick can easily make "microwavable music"
As demonstrated..
My exact feelings about Cole. I’m glad someone touched on that because we’re not falling for the peace bs 😜 keep it sweet on the Fall off boy!
He talked too much big boy shxt to run and tuck his tail like that. Fall off gotta be legendary to correct this misstep. And he gotta earn the right to run his mouth about being the best again.
Hope you subscribe and check our other content out
The Hall of Fame shot was at Big Sean too ….. Big Sean got an album called Hall of Fame
It could apply to both … maybe , but he was telling drake if Jay z made the rock and roll hall of fame by sticking to hiphop, that drake ain’t bigger than making rap albums.
@@wearedecyphered double entendre…. At that time of the Heart Part 4 , Big Sean was doing ALOT of “sneak dissing” … and we know now Kendrick was talking to him through his verses cause we heard the “leaked extended” version of elements where he said Big Sean name , Jay electronica name , he told Aubrey the meek battle had him gassed , he ah fuck him up …. Lol
Drake fasho heard that Black Panther ish and felt a way…”I’m a hit maker not a peacemaker”
They didn't mention "King's dead" Jay Rock, Future, Kendrick
Apparently schoolboy q was the one that told j cole to stop
These BROTHERS...Hip Hop HISTORY BREAKDOWN 😅
Much love bro !
Be mindeful Jermaine Anthony Leroy Cole! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
46:19 Every time I hear somebody say he's a great rapper, I always have reservations cause I'm not confident he wrote it.
And you’re within your right to feel that way. It’s definitely questionable for sure. His grade will adjust the more info comes out.
Where can I find Part 2 and the line by line breakdown videos?
Part 2 - tomorrow , line by line breakdowns coming soon.
I truly appreciated you guys on the back track history of the biggest Battle Rap of my generation, thank you very much guys 🔥🔥🔥👍🏾💯
35:47 I’ve been saying this for the longest. Tbh it’s not a bad thing. It’s just the truth. Drakes music has a place in hip hop but it’s not the golden standard that represents the art of hip hop.
I think Cole was the only one who wanted a friendly battle 😂 Kdot coulda kept it cordial with cole but not drake lol either he knew it was gonn get messy or likr they said tde reached out nd told him. Everything was cool until drake opened his mouth lol Kdot said in euphoria this ain't even about rap
They went on tour together 11 years ago…he might have first hand knowledge of that daughter….
Dj drama is the one who exposed Drake ghostwriters because he backed doored him! So I think allot of people in the industry knew that’s why Kendrick was able to make that jab pre meek. Dj drama also told meek
Drake just been moving so slimy it seems. I remember him dissing drama in a song on some slick stuff. I didn’t know drama responded saying bruh had ghost writers
@@wearedecyphered drama started telling people about the ghostwriters because Drake had messed with his wife/fiancé and so Drake dissing in the song probably came as a response to drama telling everybody his business
Nasty work
Also.. Poetic Justice … go relisten to that song.. specifically Drake’s verse. Watch the video with it.
33:00 mark onwards TALK THAT TALK ! Its the insecurity and frustration in him of wanting to be loved above all and everyone else...I honestly feel like it stems from his childhood...but thats a whole other topic ,,, but i honestly feel like in every milestone and crucial stage of his life/career hes been seeking validation, acceptance and/or love from others, that he cant genuinely and truthfully look for in himself..... and then seeing KENDRICK GET IT??! someone who hit the mainstream limelight not too long after him, from supporting him, to get it instantly from the community he's ALWAYS been wanting it from, woke his demons like the Nine Tail Fox my nigha, his demons took advantage of alllll his emotions and then starts the journey off mimicking and seeking street affiliation and validation because in his lil half jewish disconnected mind he thought black people were just like the hood movies [ he probably salivated over on weekend, practicing how to show be a "real nigha" when maybe his father neglected him and didnt come pick him up on, ]
Not you had me looking up Jermaine’s full govment name and you gave him two new names 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 made my guy sound like a mechanic
