My grandmother and I were discussing the shooting, and we got confused mid-conversation until she said, "Oh, no, sorry - I was talking about the OTHER mass shooting." That's a problem.
Well it is really to confuse all the different shootings. I just tried to look up the number and CBS claimed that there have been more mass shooting than days this year. So the only reason why these shootings are more special is because they had more kills than usual? That is messed up.
@@Weltenbastler2000 Well, yeah. We do measure tragedy by loss of life. Doesn't mean any murder is not tragic, but we can make more of an impact if we can find a way to make these mass shootings with many deaths more difficult to carry out. I think we have to take a realistic approach, it's not like we can just ban all gun ownership in hopes of stopping every domestic violence shooting and road-rage shooting and mass shooting in America. No one wants to get shot at Walmart, or a food festival or a concert. Maybe we can use that common ground to take the first step and then get back to arguing about how far gun control should go. you know where they make a ton of those violent videogames?.. and play them more than us?.. japan... you know where they dont have mass shootings every other day...?.. japan..
mityaboy-There are many video games that promote violence by killing on screen in graphic images. Certain video games encourage murder/shooting/killing and like guns these video games will be used by the mentally ill to promote their own inward hate. Don't try justifying these forms of entertainment as they have no redeeming value. If you are for gun control then you should also be for video game control.
@@LAStreetPreacher I would not justify anything, but it is simple: if guns don't kill people, then videogames are not killing people either. We can't have a double standard as you pointing it out. But IF games are an active ingredient and we have to limit the access to it, then so are guns. You could be as crazy as you want if you can't buy a (semi) automatic gun, then you could not go out and kill 10-20-30 real people from a safe distance. (you know if you have a knife your killing radius is rather small, if you have an AK-47, your radius is the whole street). Am i against guns? - no i am not Am i against easy access? - probably Am i against uncontrolled access to unnecessary firepower in hands of civilians? - yes i am. i can understand without a question if you want to keep a small handgun at home for protecting your property, your loved ones. No issues. but an AR-15, AK or similar (or bigger) ones? what is the purpose? As much as i can understand we are not living in the middle of a zombie apocalypse where we need mass shooting powers as for video games: yes we *might* need to control them - but hear the difference (using AR-15 only because everyone can relate to it) - i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i play this crazy videogame AND i have access to this AR-15 and ammunition --> i will go and do some real damage OR - i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i play this crazy videogame BUT there is nothing i can use to DO it -> i will sit home and i will imagine the thing in my head. now let's remove the videogame - i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i have access to this AR-15 and ammunition --> i will go and do some real damage OR - i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people BUT there is nothing i can use to DO it -> i will sit home and i will imagine the thing in my head. (IT IS oversimplified i know!) but adding or removing the videogames does not change the outcome - while removing the tool to execute the plan, makes it less easy to go around and kill 20 innocent kid in a school. I know if you are a hard believer that any guns should be freely accessible for anyone, i will not change your mind. That is not my plan either. I just think, that shifting the blame on _anything_ and _everything_ but the unrestricted easy access to guns and ammunition is hypocritical to say the least. I think the right to live in an environment where you do not have to worry about that an idiot can walk into your kid's school anytime with a gun probably stronger than the right to provide any kind of weapon to everyone. (as a crazy example, why not have a nuclear warhead too? law abiding citizens would not destroy half a city with them, right?) Please see my point, i am not against guns, but i am for those innocent kids / young adults who die (and will die) every year just because it is extreme easy to put your hand on a firearm. (not yours of course - i am not accusing you of any wrongdoing) And SH's idea of put there perimeters and guns and metal detectors are just makes me wonder that whether that man is really that insane or is this just another publicity stunt...
Brother Carlton lol you’re challenged if you genuinely think video games are creating people able to prepare for a mass shooting then not only shoot one person but have the mindset to keep going. No matter how much you like video games you aren’t gonna do that. Get fucking real.

We have the same videogames in Europe. And no mass shootings so far this year. With the gun deaths in my country translated to the size of the US, you should have 285 deaths annually.
No one wants to get shot at Walmart, or a food festival or a concert. Maybe we can use that common ground to take the first step and then get back to arguing about how far gun control should go. "Videogames don't kill people..."
mityaboy-There are many video games that promote violence by killing on screen in graphic images.
- no i am not
Am i against easy access? - probably
Am i against uncontrolled access to unnecessary firepower in hands of civilians? - yes i am.
i can understand without a question if you want to keep a small handgun at home for protecting your property, your loved ones. No issues.
but an AR-15, AK or similar (or bigger) ones? what is the purpose? As much as i can understand we are not living in the middle of a zombie apocalypse where we need mass shooting powers
as for video games: yes we *might* need to control them - but hear the difference (using AR-15 only because everyone can relate to it)
- i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i play this crazy videogame AND i have access to this AR-15 and ammunition --> i will go and do some real damage
OR
- i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i play this crazy videogame BUT there is nothing i can use to DO it -> i will sit home and i will imagine the thing in my head.
now let's remove the videogame
- i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people AND i have access to this AR-15 and ammunition --> i will go and do some real damage
OR
- i have a crazy feeling that i want to kill 20 people BUT there is nothing i can use to DO it -> i will sit home and i will imagine the thing in my head.
(IT IS oversimplified i know!)
but adding or removing the videogames does not change the outcome - while removing the tool to execute the plan, makes it less easy to go around and kill 20 innocent kid in a school.
(as a crazy example, why not have a nuclear warhead too? law abiding citizens would not destroy half a city with them, right?)
Please see my point, i am not against guns, but i am for those innocent kids / young adults who die (and will die) every year just because it is extreme easy to put your hand on a firearm. (not yours of course - i am not accusing you of any wrongdoing)

The Dayton shooter was a Warren supporter. If Trump is responsible for the El Paso shooting then Elizabeth has a lot of explaining to do.
My son has been battling mental illnesses for a long time and it makes me furious when Trump says those with mental illness creates the violence.
Some mental illness are a lifelong battle despitr we are receiving adequate treatment from medical professionals and thanks to the NPO.s providing free counceling and assistance.
He is the one who allowed people with mental illnesses have gun ownership. Don't blame the treatment. Please keep guns away from the people with mental illnesses.

Everybody has mental illness.
@@Abr022575 This culture requires it. Otherwise you go into the mental asylum or become a drug addict.
TRUE. Our gun problem is NOT a “mental illness” problem, and that’s a colossal cop-out. Most people with mental illness are more likely to hurt themselves with guns than anyone else. So yeah, they shouldn’t be near them for their safety. No one really needs a gun. But we do have an actual mental illness problem in this country. We should be focusing on that, too. But that isn’t what’s causing the gun problem... we all know that
