Dr C. Sylendra Babu IPS is an Indian Police Service Officer of the 1987 batch belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre. He is serving as the Additional Director General of Police of the Railways (GRP), Tamil Nadu. He holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of Madras. He is a voracious reader, motivational speaker and an avid fitness enthusiast. He is famous among Tamil Nadu People for his heroic actions and inspiring speeches.

I met sir at my college for the first time and felt he is like a real super cop. Then while cycling on OMR chennai I met him with his training cadets and other peers. He was having tender coconut on the side of the road. I saw his side arm and understood he is Silendra Babu sir. I went near him told that I am also into cycling and he was advanced even then. He guided me and inspired me to take up cycling. Now I am in USA and I bike regularly. Sir encouraged me almost 10 years back… still motivates me to cycle everyday. In India my longest distance was between Bangalore and Vellore. All thanks for sir 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I studied B.Sc. Computer Science in Sri Chandrasekharendra Viswa Maha Vidhyalaya college in Pammal. This great man was a chief guest in 2002 college function. I got a shield from the sir for scoring first mark in a particular subject. That moment I can cherish throughout my life, but the sad part is that i dont have the photo of that event. This man looks same as like he was in 2002. Hats off to you sir for maintaining the fitness.

I was doing my schooling in Cuddalore by when sir was SP in Cuddalore district. I was active in Scouts and NCC by when sir was the chief guest for our camps. He was such an amazing inspirational personality in my childhood and I am fortunate to receive proficiency awards from him on those days.
