I wrote this song when we were moving away from our home in the country to be closer to Jack's work. We actually made a video of that transition ( • Letting go of the past... ). It was time for the next chapter of our lives, but I still remember how hard it was. Moving is rough.

Lyrics:
Feel the sun ride down your back
Come a little bit closer
The rolling hills, the wrinkled map
Come a little bit closer
Fold me up and keep me
In your pocket
Trudging through the weeds
My little huckleberry
And when the evening air gets cold
Come a little bit closer
Billowing fires and breathing coals
Come a little bit closer
As we walk away
My knees buckle
Promise me you’ll stay
My little huckleberry
What part of us will stay
The grass is high, the cattle moan
Come a little bit closer
The drying paint, the gaping hole
Come a little bit closer
Staring at the yard
We were so lucky
Heavy as a heart
My little huckleberry - เพลง
Beautiful song Natalie, and to anyone scrolling through these comments today, have a wonderful day & remember you are beautiful & worth it😊. And don't forget the SMASH like button on Nataly's video.
Very fine... Huckleberry... Finn, Nataly!!. Like a whisper... :)
My Dad was a Career USAF Pilot....we did a Ton Of Moving.....my older sister wrote a book on this too.....I personally know All too Well how That Huckleberry Is Feeling...... Indeed moving is tough sometimes. Cheers From The Welcome Wagon in Ohio
So glad I cottoned on to proper musicians.
“heavy as a heart....”
I feel ya...
Beautifulness
You and your music are absolutely beautiful, Nataly❤🙏 Love your music so much 😊💕
Love this song, it sounds how trying not to be sad about change feels
That Cello snuck up on me in the best way possible
You are so amazing at creating such unique moods with your music. I can tell you have such a clear vision for each of your songs. So creative, so inspiring to me.
Благодарю за такую волшебную песню😍❤️❤️❤️
"Huckleberry Friend" ...someone with whom one has a carefree, innocent, hopeful, gentle friendship. Bucolic wanderers and dreamy wonderers. Those with which to share a sun-drenched youth. Ahhhhh Jack, not a better pocket full of words could #NatalyDawn bestow upon you. Hoping this song persists thru the years. So delightful and poignant.
You have an incredible instrument , and, when you bring your lovely pure tones to grittier material, you shine so brightly. I think that’s where you can really leave your mark.
“In the darkness the light shines all the brighter.”
Keep up the amazing work.
Проникновенно.
What a great find for me tonight....I saw your collaboration w/ Ali on the Lizzo/Mumford song...which I loved...and this is wonderful!! :)
Love the imagery in the lyrics! Simple but strong. Tugs at my heart.
Love it. I will never get tired of hearing your voice.
Such perfect music every time.
Just lovely. Thank you for this and all the other great songs you've been sharing with us recently!
Lively to find this whilst I'm quarentined separately from my boyfriend. To cut a long story short we calls kids "Huckleberries" and this has become quite a sweet reminder that things will be better one day and maybe that'll involve him, and maybe huckleberries of our own years from now
I love huckleberries, so I guess that means I love you. Very pretty song.
wow, been a fan for 10yrs and your music is still awesome.
Great! Awesome!
Thank you, Nat! Another beautiful creation!
Gooood
So... fragile and gorgeous!
Second favorite song on the album.
Quelle douce et suave mélodie, quel sens de l'arrangement et du détail dans l'orchestration. Le décor est parfait est Nataly juste est lumineuse, comme toujours. Bravo !

LOVE LOVE IT!!
Have you seen any of the "Music Monday" video's I've been making since last August?
always a pleasure to listen to your songs, when a date in France ?
Yes…….
Nataly has become a small, but very significant part, of my daily routine of lowering my blood pressure, and thus helping to keep me calm. Nat, I adore your existence.
That looks like Cello Joe to me
Unforgettably! Wonderful music.
But also informative: I always believed that Americans love to relocate - unlike us who live in Russia, conservative couch potatoes.
I'd like to hear you do Marie Laforêt's Mon amour, mon ami
Would you ever want to collab with lisa hannigan? Would love to hear your harmonies.
Okay like really nice song and everything but I just want to point out that you have a special relationship with sunlight.
The rich wood of your guitar, Nataly. Then Lauren. The strength in your whisper. Then Lauren. This string arrangement. Then Lauren. "Heavy as a Heart" I rate up there with "Changing my life with the wave of her hand". Then Lauren. These aching, beautiful words that you have to leave behind. But not Lauren. And Not your little huckleberry.
;)
Great song! Beautifully shot too. I think there was a small missed opportunity in the edit though. If you'd cut to a close-up on the second syllable of 'closer' rather than on the first, it would've had that little extra bit of magic.
She looks like Mariane Faithful in the sixties.
She looks like Elisabeth Le Brun (In a straw hat).
Вроде, американка, но выглядит, как русская...
Папа или мама не из Союза?
Very fine... Huckleberry... Finn, Nataly!!. Like a whisper... :)
