At least Black people at HBCU don't have to worry about the Professor's Talking about How they Hair Looks and How They Talk because we Black people Have our Own Way of Communicating with Each other
So proud of this piece Phil. I attended a pwi my first 2 yrs of school and didn't have a great experience academically. But when I arrive at North Carolina A&T, it was night and day. Teachers cared 100% more and told you that we were a reflection of this institution and our people so walk and talk with pride. Thanks for doing this your brither.
I am so glad that you did a segment on Bethune Cookman University. My daughter is currently a senior at this institution, and I will honestly say that this place has made her a better person as far as forming a young girl into a knowledgeable, confident woman. I steered her in the direction of going to an HBCU in order for her to be in an environment where she is not being frowned upon because of her skin color. I agree totally that we as black people should steer our kids in the direction of attending HBCU's , because how are we gonna be pro black and not support whats ours.
We need more funding so there will be no excuse to go to a PWI. We need more diverse and online programs. We definitely need that. There should be no reason why way more african american master's and PhD's are granted by one online school than Howard grants.
Proud Bethune Alum here! The experience that I had at Bethune taught me alot about myself. Black Excellence is always on display. The professors and administration are vested in your growth. Go Cats!
Great to watch your on location interview with the students of the HBCU in Florida. The students' parents and families must be proud of them. It is evident that they intend on investing in the black communities once they graduate. Thanks Phil and the team at the advice show for giving us an insight into an HSBU.
Hey Phil! Thank you for covering my late cousin! I am the 4th generation bloodline to the founder of the college. Cousin Mary's father and my great great grandfather are full blooded brothers! I have the census report to prove it. I found out through my great uncle. He was the one that told us about the McLeod side of the family. It was at my great great great Aunt Isabella McLeod Levy funeral when we really found out. Not to mention, my found out the rest of the family on Facebook.
I attended a PWI and while I was there---back in the early 1990s--the black students on campus were being followed by the campus police and made to stop and show ID and they would ask ''what building did you come from and what building are you going to?''....The white students never got this kind of treatment but we did and we raised cain about it so that they stopped...Also the dorm I lived in every window on the side of the building had the confederate flag on display and finally the administration made them take it down....Can't change the past but I do see the need to financially support HBCUs.
My lovely brothers and sisters are really doing great for themselves. BLACK is POWERFUL!!! Please patronize/support BLACK owned businesses/Schools/products. One LOVE!!!
Phil... Please come to Virginia University of Lynchburg. We need your media coverage really bad. The criteria to get into this school is set to benefit all students even of they're not originally college bound. We literally have guidance counselors that refuse to let us have access to the borderline students just so their local warehouses will be full. They know that's the alternative for these students and were begging for some.media coverage. Please Phil. My husband, Head Football Coach Bobby Rome and myself are a big fan of yours. We're in the business of raising black men, showing them how to be leaders, Husbands, and fathers Telling them they will marry and stay faithful and committed to God.
Hi Brother Phil , (Just an idea) Next time you go to Africa, try to visit some of the universities out there. I think the idea of "building bridges" should start with education. This would be a great way to bring talent to and from Africa. In addition, it would open more doors economically and allow for unification between individuals of African descent and Africans. Bridge the culture
10:30 Malik Gray. We need more Airmen. Look up the ERAU AFROTC program. Contact Detachment 157. You'll most likely have to be an officer. BCU has a crosstown agreement with ERAU. All you need to do is pass medical, fitness and the LSAT test. Best of luck in all your endeavors. :)
One of the problems that BCU faces is that they are right up against a really depressed part of Daytona Beach. There's been violence committed by the locals against BCU students.
This feed has some rivalry between HBCU's. I say get your education where you can and don't hate. I attended BCU. For me it was necessary and the care and close attention I received changed my mindset. I was reluctant to even apply for college because I felt I wasn't good enough even though I had a 3.0 in high school. My college experience changed that for the best. I just know many of us would be left behind with out them.
phil talking with that young brother made me feel good you, see what your child can be like when they father is in they life! #BLACKFATHERSMATTER #ADOS #MAILKGRAY
ADOS that grew up in a black community . know their culture they don't need to be taught that unless you grew up in white culture . i hope mary mccloud Bethune cookman university more than black culture.. upon graduation should be a sure job career or business skills.

Very inspiring story Phil. 👍.
I went to a HBCU and a girl put bleach in my hair products because she was jealous of my long hair. Bad things can happen at any school.ijs
My niece graduated from there and my nephew was in the band. Also had some cousins attend
Thank you for this video... 😎
We love your Chanel sir
Positivity and Progress keep up the good work
I love Daytona Beach

Are these unis understanding to blacks with cognitive conditions is my massive concern due to being autistic.
Phil, what are the academics programs? I heard dance, hair, make-up and being with your own black people.
Psychology. Criminal justice.
