    This is AMAZING. It's such a shame that here in the UK , people are so out of touch with true fresh meat that they have to warn viewers that the images might offend. We are happy eating the over processed burger but we don't want to see the cow (which btw has probably been mistreated and suffered a terrible life in the mass farming industry). This is why I'm so happy to be french (I'm also of african descent). A french guy will look at a cow or pig alive and tell you which parts are good to eat and then show you how to butcher it. Lots of brits have lost this love to real food. It's a shame. We need to educate ourselves a bit more and stop buying rubbish, tasteless meat from supermarkets. The first time I ate pork in my maternal village in cameroon(it was a welcome present and the pig had been butchered specially for my mother and I) ,I was SHOCKED. I never really liked oil before that because I found it quite tasteless. But this one had a very strong sweet gamey taste. The skin and fat and gelatin and meat were SOOOOO tasty even though there wasn't much seasoning. Just a few herbs. Well after that I could never eat supermarket pork again. Thanks for this video :)

      TheDogs1504 Erm actually, I grew up in the English countryside so i know what I'm talking about. I've spent more time in England than in France. I was born in the UK (born french though) then moved to France.These avid home chefs you speak of are usually of middle class background which to me is not representative of the nation. A lot of commoners do not know or no longer care where their food comes from. It's a shame. When i speak to young people my age , alot of them have no knowledge of real food. I do now live in London mind you and we do have a growing number of young foodies but these foodies tend to not be from poor backgrounds either. Also please don't tell me to shut up. There are more decent ways of speaking to people. My comment was not insulting and I'm entitled to my own opinion. Are you French ? No? So how can you guarantee anything ? France has a strong agricultural industry which is extremely important. Every week on TF1 you'll see updates about how the farming sector is going. So its normal for even a Parisian to be closer to nature even when he lives in the city. It's in the culture. Most of us still buy our meat from the butchers(the wealthy shop in farmers markets) , bread from bakeries ,know which part of what animal is needed to make such or such meal, rich or poor. I want England to come back to that too and not just the wealthy people. When I first walked into iceland , I looked at the ingredients of the products and was appalled. Especially when I looked around and saw many young or very elderly working class people shopping there. I thought these are the very people who need healthy, fresh food. You seem to have taken my comment as an attack but it wasn't . Even though I'm legally french I also consider myself also English. So its natural for me to feel concerned. I wish you a pleasant Sunday. Good day x

      TheDogs1504 You may have family in france , just as I do btw but you are speaking based on hearsay whereas I am speaking from personal experience. The class system may be ridiculous but it doesn't stop the fact that it's there. We live in a capitalist society where we have a huge variation in the levels of incomes. Ok so you're of working class background. So ? You're only one person. There's a reason why people like Jamie Oliver spent a lot of time encouraging people/kids around the nation to eat good food. There's a reason why we are the most obese nation in Europe and we have been so for a while. France is one of the lowest according to the OECD (though it is predicted to be on the rise in the next 10 years as younger generations are becoming more and more attracted to junk food). I'm not saying that everyone shops at iceland. What surprises me is how places like Iceland can even exist. Because there is demand for their products. But as I said there is an increasing number of foodies but it's a small minority of people. However what I've noticed in England which is quite interesting is that out of those who are interested in quality of raw produce, men tend to be more interested than women. All the foodies I've met here are mostly young men bit that's pure impression. Anyway you seem to be taking my comments as an attack against you or England as a whole when statistics are there to prove what I'm saying. So this debate is rather useless , I'm going to agree to disagree. I find it silly when people comment on other people's posts just for the sake of argument then get angry (all by themselves) when the original poster repeats their original view. You thought I'd magically change my views after your post? Obviously not. So it's rather pointless.

    • @GirlyEnglishGamer
      @GirlyEnglishGamer 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TheDogs1504 Lol. To put me back in my place . What a joke. Now who the hell do you think YOU are? Im very fine in my place thank you very much. Yes you are only 1 person. You don't care about my view? For someone who doesn't give a 'rats ass' about my view you sure are taking precious time out of your day to respond. ;)I think you need to do a bit of research Mr because clearly you're the one who doesn't know what they are talking about. Do you know what the OECD is ? My mother worked in the Ministry of Agriculture (DEFRA) in Westminster and now works in the OECD so I know my fair share about Britain's eating, farming patterns.Also you just contradicted yourself . I just said that poorer people don't eat well. You just confirmed my whole view. The fact that you associate 'finer products ' with fresh healthy , non processed products , yet again confirms what I was saying. The VAST MAJORITY of people do not eat well. I've also lived in this society for some time. So in fact we don't disagree at all. Please learn how to read. I said that there were more and more foodies. Which is basically what you just said. Whether or not we are more conscious of what we are eating ,the fact is that we are still fat. I still see junk, prepared food being served in our children's schools. I still see children who have very little knowledge of vegetables and the animals we find in our plates and kids who are given little packed lunches full of rubbish to eat at school. We are still the fat nation of Europe and it's not for nothing.

      Hey loudmouth,
      First off; The English, as well an any other country that has television (virtually everyone) never have to be "warned" that the movie they are about to watch has (simulations of) people who are about to be shot, maimed, raped, tied up, locked up, tortured, and be ripped apart by murderers. It is gratuitous violence after violence and nothing more on television.
      But, when it comes time to watching where our food comes from- THEN WE NEED TO BE WARNED because, after all, we can eat the pig but God for bid we learn about our foods origin.
      How stupid. But not as stupid- or as mean spirited- as you.
      I was quite impressed with the girls truth and insight and you seem to have a problem with it because, quite frankly, you have something stuck up your "arse" and I'm assuming its your brain. The only reason you reacted so caustically to what, basically, was an innocuous yet accurate insight is because your sensibilities were offended and that's YOUR PROBLEM.
      Here in the states I have a friend who is a caterer who makes her own sausages. Yet when, for Christmas, I ordered a whole suckling pig, she
      was unable to bring herself to look at it. When I cited her own vast experience with food and its preparation, namely "sausages", she retorted "I never cooked "bambi".
      Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
      I lived in Italy as well and that attitude DOES NOT PREVAIL ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. The same goes for rabbits which here in the states are considered "pets" and most Americans ARE offended at the thought of cooking them, but THEY ARE NOT OFFENDED TO LINE UP AT MCDONALDS TO GRAB A "HAPPY MEAL" which includes the remains ( and I mean "remains") of an animal which was turned upside down via a mechanical "jaw" and then had its throat cut.
      This silly, ignorant hypocrisy keeps men and their food sources- THE SOURCE OF WHAT SUSTAINS THEM- far apart and unrealistic. This ignorance leads to poor eating habits and bad choices.
      THAT WAS THE GIRLS POINT, sir, and she was right.

    • @jimstone7928
      @jimstone7928 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** Marie,
      just tell "the dogs" to screw off.
      You are right and he is simply insecure because, for some obscure reason, you offended him.
      That's his problem.
      You are correct in your belief and the same concept can be applied to Americans where people and their food sources are kept as far apart
      as you can imagine.

    Pork fat is apparently the ideal profile your body wants of saturated fat to monounsaturated fat that is found in your own adipose tissue. Only peanut oil is as close, but vegetable oil is probably not as healthy because not as fresh and not animal based. Fat is only unhealthy if mixed with high carbs.

    • @MrApplewine
      @MrApplewine 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you said is true, but that isn't what I was talking about. What I was saying is true, but in what dose it becomes a problem I cannot say. The issue is that when blood glucose is very high at the same time of saturated fat the liver will be unable to detoxify the saturated fat which causes lipotoxicity. This doesn't happen with monosaturated fats or when blood sugar is not high. If saturated fat is consumed with protein during a fast for example this would never happen. So, to some extent there is benefit to keeping blood glucose and saturated fat separate. I'm not doing this myself as I don't know the dosage issues. I don't think the fat slowing it will be enough either or it would never be an issue. Maybe a lot of really refined cars with a high dose of saturated fat will be toxic to beta cells. That is when you get type 1 diabetes.

    Where is the graphic content that was warned about? What was that all about? Are people - in general - offended by the natural process of killing, skinning and parting of an animal?
    No wonder our children thinks that meat "comes from the refrigerated display down in the local supermarket".
    This is a great video, but it certainly does not require any kind of "warning" tag attached to it. That's just ridiculous. But I guess the producers has to adhere to mind-numbing political rules that dictate to warn and/or remove content that "may offend some sensitive viewers".
    Sheesh. I suggest these viewers take a stroll in the wilds one day. See how nature acts at its best. Then they'd surely be struggling with PTSS for the rest of their lives.

    I can't understand what they talk about brain...but in my country the pig brain is not edible, whereas the lamb or goat calf brain is edible...how about that in Italy?

      pigs dig around in the dirt and are more likely to pick up certain parasites from the soils. thats why you tend to cook pigs more than other animals unless they are grown in controlled conditions, as well as why you avoid certain parts of outdoor raised pigs.
