    Thanks for the share of the T6. During my first trip to SMKW about 1.5 yr ago, I thought this T6 was the most-comfortable, grippable fixed blade I tried out. I held off because of the Slepner steel ... but now 3V? Gotta be great 👍.

      Byron, you you mean the M7, the M7 is in Sleipner steel. The T5 is in Niolox steel and the T6 limited edition in Boehler K490 and the regular Version is in CPM 3V. The M7, T5 and T6 has this really great handel. I own the T5 and the T6 K490 absolutely great knives.

    Nice review... I bought this knife like 2 weeks ago. I was recommended by shop owner to go for M5 or T5 but I have big hands and best feeling from grip I had with this one. Did not have much time to try it in action but looking forward to test it in nature for some bushcraft stuff :-). Not sure if the choil of this blade will be possible to use with the firesteel but maybe it depends on diameter of firesteel. It feels kind of small the choil (but it is not main purpose I bought this knife for).

    I think you can scrape a ferro rod in the choil (not sure with the coated ones). If not it shouldn't be hard to modify the choil, the flat up with the tip, or the attitude adjuster so it will. If not having a little scraper in the kit made of some scrap metal is my favorite, I just love little scrap fire scrapers since you get to make them just the way you like and adapt them to any small kits. I love my K490 T6, and I will pick up the 3V one as well since I really like the T6 as a camp knife. Plus I won't be totally heartbroken if the 3V version breaks compared to the K490 one 😅

    I have the K490 variant. It came really sharp. I was able to dispatch a deer with it.

    Thanks for this awesome video, what about the fire strike at the back of the blade it is sharper enough to strike a ferro rod easy ?

    Hey John, That's a big, beefy knife! I'm looking forward to getting the Lion Steel T6. Good tip for rotating the retention strap or removing it during frequent use. My local supplier still has the K490 version still in stock, and I think you mentioned you also have a T6 in K490, so I wanted to ask a QUESTION: How do you think the K490 compares with the 3V? (There's not a lot of info out there on K490, so I was wondering what you think of it.)

    06:25 You´re right with that! There are actually some (higher in price) knives I´ve not bought bc of the shitty sheat. I hate when companies do it. I feel fooled as a customer. My hard earned money.....

    How would you say the K490 holds up vs the 3V on the Lionsteel T6?

      hi i would like to ask this same. I have seen video from Italy and edge retention holds better cpm 3v not k490! so from overview its clear that cpm3v is better!!

      No, it’s a rat tail tang. Only holes in it are the holes for the screws and the lanyard hole. Very, very nice blade

    No knife is worth $300+ for a production knife. Then again I’m amazed at what people think a survival knife is. Company marketing has people truly lost.

      If money is no object, than what are the best survival Knives in your opinion ?

    • @richardhenry1969
      @richardhenry1969 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Argentina-cz3ru survival knives is a ridiculous term. If you talking about a knife for wilderness survival then generally any knife with up to a 4in blade. Big knives usually are not worn all the time. So the chances of having one when needed are slim. In survival you need a knife to carve and make things. I’ve never seen a situation where I needed to baton wood.
      A knife doesn’t need to cost a fortune. All of the knives I use are under $100. My opinion the best survival knife Terava jaakaripuukko 110
      Some environments require a machete I prefer a 12 Ontario but Terava skrama is also very capable.
      Just don’t see anytime a 6 to 8 inch knife would do anything to make it worth carrying.
