After Gala's 15-5 win over Melrose seven days earlier in the Premiership League the two met again at Netherdale to compete in the semi final of the Scottish Cup. Gala are the holders and looking for six straight wins against their rivals from 3 miles down the road. Melrose were underdogs. Who would reach the final at Murrayfield? It would turn out to be the second highest points scored in a game between the two sides in their history.
