Being a socially awkward person, fashion is like a getaway for me to my own world. I could be the most timid and discreet but my outfit could be the loudest. It’s a gateway to opportunities (could spark a convo) just because you like the same brand/style/etc. That’s what I like about it

Being relatively new to fashion I initially came in just to dress better, but after coming in contact with the avant garde genre it's spoken to me in a way very few things in life do for me, in some ways it's a performance art as it makes me and others question gender norms in relation to fashion whenever I wear those pieces and I just have realised in general how much my quality of life has improved along with embracing fashion, it's an armour for me as well as showing my more playful and creative side to others without having to use my words.
What I love about fashion is how it helps me find the right balance between being open and enigmatic. Without having to open my mouth and saying a single word, I am able to show something about myself to everyone else whilst also being able to maintain that safe and somewhat passive-aggresive diatance between me and them.

What some label as basic is, for me, often deemed fancy and otherworldly. Rick Owens shouldn't be seen casually; it's deeply rooted in quality materials and original design, carrying a profound philosophy. I make sure I don’t look only dressed but I’m telling a story . What in my opinion is the most fasinating about fashion in general is the fact, that even when people don’t give much attention to the outlook they send a message with their image. Fashion community can be very close and focus on trends and nubers, but nowdays things swithed up and You can find a lot of content creator/fashion enthusiasts that build community around their intrest. I’m thrift addict since forever and the hunting rush and the individuality of the pieces is unmatched with anything. You don’t have to spend big money to create tour own style/image, all You need is some imagination and intuition. I feel that the way Rick himself talk about his early days in the industry give us a full picture of potential that fashion scene have.
thrifting was what made me connect with fashion with so much clarity. Through thrifting I was able to access fashion and create a world around it. I am glad you find joy in it as well! ❤
what i love about fashion is how its one way you can subscribe to codes of designers you align with both aesthetically and philosophically it also makes me feel so confident when i can choose which parts of myself i can emphasize physically through textures, colors, proportions, etc.
For me, on the most part it’s the enjoyment of collecting and learning, having my own little bubble of things I save up for and love and look after, on top of connecting / understanding the messaging behind a particular season for example. What I love about fashion is being able to express myself beyond all limits, to me every single aspect of it is an art form (Deisgning, styling, sewing, pattern making, ect...). I don't always wake up and "put that shit on", but when I do I immediately feel like the best version of myself, i feel comfortable in my own skin and all need of approval from a second party vanishes. My goal is to reach the point where I live every single day like this and move on completely from things like social pressure, insecurities, and all the negative aspects that have characterised my teens (still in 'em but only got one more year to go).

Yes, you can show us crazy Rick Owens fits, but you can also admit that a lot of guys will just end up wearing 501s. Your videos remind me of some of the things that I love best about fashion. Namely, how it points out how nearly everything that we consider part of our fixed and stable identity is socially constructed. There are whole swaths of menswear discussions that seem to locate one’s solid identity as a cis male in how well the shoulders of your jacket fit, or how the crease of your pant leg breaks at your shoe. And then there is the avant-garde realm, where aesthetic conventions such as proportion get turned on their head, social conventions such as gender are completely subverted or ignored, and perhaps even the laws of physics such as gravity can be transcended. This is the best part of fashion: that one can experience the world anew as a space alien, free from the social constructs that we have grown up in. At least for an an afternoon.
For me, fashion is a way to display a part of who you are, but for yourself not for other people. Both as a designer and as a consumer. Although, as a designer you can express yourself as you truly are, whereas as a consumer one must go on a hunt to find those artists who have similarity to your modality and sense of being. Or you can just wear stuff that feels comfy, idk 🤷♂

It’s visual and you can add prints and designs like a painting or illustration, you can feel it and see it in many perspectives like a sculpture. You can see it’s beauty in movement like film, and like a video game, it is one of the most interactive and playful arts as you choose how to style pieces together from many artists creating something likely never thought of before. Add cologne or perfume to add to the story of your style. Heck, sometimes you can even hear it with some fabrics. The only thing is you can’t taste it… unless… 👀
I love clothes, but I don't follow treads. I like to create my own outfits. I like platform shoes and patent leather. I love suit jackets with pinstripes. I love neck ties with diagonal stripes. I also like hat styles from the early 20th century. Most men in the United States wear ball caps, but I'd rather look different.

julius cargos are really great for when you want to throw on a basic band tee but also want to elevate the outfit. because of how they are bulkier at the waist with the pockets they create a great form especially if you blouse them in to boots.
What i love about fashion is that it allows one to express their true selves. There is no right or wrong in fashion. You can dress however you like and feel comfortable, creative, special or normal. As it is something you wear, it actually becomes part of you, not only your identity but as an actual physical organ so to say. Simply said, i like how i can one day dress conform to the “norm” or as extravagant as possible the other day. Really glad i found your channel! You are such an inspiration to me!

I must say that I have definitely have started slowly collecting key RO pieces, the pods are my favs. a pair of Creatch pods, an oversized see thru shirt, kiss boots, some dick flap tanks, a long sleeve T ( the thin ones) … a Lido long jacket, it’s just classic goes with everything and can wear they all work well with my outfits year around and layering them when it starts getting cold. Oh yes and a few pairs of the jump suits/flight suits they are a must! … oh also I mix in some of my Dries stuff with my RO stuff, especially the huge oversized wide trousers. LOVE THEMM. I also love my ALYX, black super chunky chelsea’s that are the convertible ones ( can pop off the vibram chunk bottoms if I wanna dress it up ).
