Oh yeah when I use clips from the Z portion, 90% of the time it's gonna be Kai. I prefer Kai just for being accurate to the manga. (The green tint on the Buu saga kinda ass tho)
I would say there’s a sort of redemption and acceptance for Goku in the Buu saga also. Even though his intentions were good by choosing to stay dead it’s clear he put to much responsibility on Gohan and by extension Goten and Trunks. Him staying dead and wanting to pass the torch actually had the opposite effect of what he was hoping to achieve. Without Goku, Gohan lost all his ambition to be powerful (Gohan only ever cared about actively training when his dad was alive) and by extension wasn’t around for Goten and Gohan which left them kinda just care free. It’s clear in those 7 years his family and friends missed him a lot and they weren’t the same without him. Vegeta couldn’t fully move on and loses it when he sees him again, Gohan is weak, Tien, Yamcha, Piccolo and Krillin have given up fighting. He once again tried to double down on his past decision, he lets a weak and unmotivated Gohan who just wanted to see his dad again for one day go fight Buu, backed up by a weak Kaio shin, he doesn’t kill fat Buu because he still believes it’s best if he doesn’t interfere too much. Once again he puts a lot of faith in kids who aren’t ready for that level of responsibility, Trunks was barely raised by Vegeta and Goten is a basically a toddler who never knew his dad. They are immature and too young. It isn’t until Gohan fumbles where Goku finally has to realize and accept he is the one and goes to finally finish Buu. It ends with him returning to life and returning to his family to raise Gohan and Goten and be there for his family until they are grown. He then goes to practically raise UuB and make sure he grows up strong as well. Goku in the Buu saga finally accepts his role as a mentor and decides to stick around to nurture and see that they do mature and grow strong this time.
I knew I should've said Goku as well!😅 Even him realizing that he should've beaten Fat Buu as SSJ3 instead of stalling for time was probably a big mistake as well(though some claim he wouldn't be able to beat Buu in that form). At least least he redeems himself by actually killing someone with the Spirit Bomb!
@@BlazingAurasI’m willing to bet on Goku being able to kill Fat Buu with SSJ3 if he was serious. It’s clear Goku wasn’t taking Fat Buu too seriously. Going by how intensely he fought kid Buu and was confident he could have killed that version too if Kid Buu had slipped up and give him an opportunity to do it! But yeah there’s a certain level of maturity and growth to Goku coming back at the end of the Buu saga, almost like a “I’m finally back for good this time guys”! Type of feel.
I fw the use of stuff from Kai in this video
RIP Toriyama, and happy 40th anniversary to this classic series
