Thank you so much!!! I inherited some jewelry from my grandmother and I’ve been trying to identify the gemstones in the pieces. She gave me a beautiful ring that I’m sure has garnet stones. There was a broken earring that contained a red stone and it fluoresced under UV light! It could be a Ruby. I would like to eventually take some of the pieces to an expert to have them identified.

2nd rubies are lab created I suspect. Lab rubies are much brighter than natural

Thanks for the tricks. I think I've found a big deposit of agatized bi-valve fossils on a northern CA. Beach. Some look like great lakes agates, some look like various colors of jade. They look like casts of the inside of the animal. Almost all have a distinct top and bottom and dimples where the muscles would have attached near the hinge. Some are translucent, some are opaque. I'm finding almost no clear chalcedony. This spot is 2 mountain ranges and 40-60 linear miles away from the nearest known volcanic area. Any thoughts?

Hi i hope you are still on channel as i just stumbled into your uv show. Anyhow I had just recently found out that uv can detect Uranium , now i have quite an assortment of Crystals of all varieties near my bed, now i just ran the uv light over them and i had a number of them Flores? Is that normal for say Amethyst quartz and what is a beautiful coloured patch of colour through the day on a nice 1.5 kg labradorite ends up being quite a florescent murky yellow in the dark under the uv light. Sir do you think I might be sleeping with uranium and if you do think so, i have absolutely no idea of of what sort of detector to buy for detecting uranium.
I very much hope yourself or one of your viewers or friends might have a bit of knowledge on this issue as i would be most overwhelmed and i know quite a few people in same position as myself that could benefit from some good instructive information.
Thank you and very much hope to hear back soon
    Curtis

Many minerals do react to UV Light. We would have to ID the specific mineral

@@LionPunchForgeLPF Thanks for reply, i just went though again and found an Amethyst and each root of the Crystal matrix was not purple but murky yellow. It's 215 am at moment and need some sleep , if i can figure out how to photograph them tomorrow, would that help?
Might take me a few days to get a good camera,
      Curtis
