This band is just in a complete different level or dimension or whatever. F...ing amzing!
The most understated Manchester band ever.
Every audience member here disagrees with you, and each have reported your wazzer comment !!!
My ALL TIME Favorite Band - I've been listening to them since the beginning and this past Sept. 2015 - I saw them for the 2nd time and got to chat with Mark Burgess again for a bit. It WAS awesome. Mark is such a nice, cool guy. They performed "Script of the Bridge" in it's entirety and it was amazing. I never get tired of listening to that album. It's been the soundtrack throughout my life.
Incredibly cool story Georgia! Script of the Bridge and What Does Anything Mean, Basically?.. If I was stranded on an island with only 2 albums, they would be my 2 choices.
This is like Perfection in two dimensions. You have the totally bad ass beginning and middle then it just morphs into the most beautiful sounds you could ever end on.
buck rogez Driving rhythm section , ambient textures, tempo changes, layered melodies. This band was a force of unparalleled energy and beauty.
The drums on this song makes it sound/feel in a perpetual tension that only finishes with the song itself. Brilliant way they crafted it all.
This band is so good, intelligent, rocking, post punk rock music at it's finest
The end of this song, the final minute is pure genius.Rock music does not get any better than this.Sad, that so many people preferred the U2 posers instead of The Chameleons.
Uno de mis grupos que me han acompañado musicalmente en la vida. Desde València (España) maravilloooossssooosss! 🎤🖤🎸
RIP John Lever
Unparalleled rawness and depth during a time of synth pop/rock
You won't regret to love them, i assure you. . We all know the inmense value of their music and the balsamic effect it has for our souls... Regards my friend!
just beautiful
What a Fantastic Band.
This was the Chameleons at their very best. I saw them then at there prime. This band and Joy Division are the best bands ever period
But i agree the Chameleons are best ever, and Joy Division in the top 5 ever.
Nothing knew about these two bands both... Thay had both very good, interesting music and lirics, profound...
everything about this band is perfect. the chiming guitars, that relentless backbeat, those vicious lyrics. what more could you ask for?
great sound to this video, its almost like being there.
God they had a magnificent sound
Saw them twice in the early 80s for the grand sum of 10 pence... loved them then and love them still.
this is their live quality? geezus. He sounds like he does on cd lol...AWESOME!
Yes, definitely. Come to Dallas, start a new band...I'll write and play guitar. Wahi' Valleys
so raw and powerful... RIP John Lever
such a great band 🙏♥️
Increíble
Un Temaso!!!!! Gracias.
This is only here say by way of Mark, but my understanding is that the Chameleons intentionally avoided the spotlight, marketing etc. They suffered because of that. Bands like the Cure and U2 actively sought commercial success and made it for obvious reasons. It’s really too bad because they were truly comparable.
Above everything and besidesall the rest... their songwriting is just fabulous....
I found The Chameleons by accident last summer when I was looking up who sang "Falling" on the Real Genius film soundtrack. The band was The Comsat Angels. I looked up similar bands and up popped The Chameleons. I bought their 1st 2 albums at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles and have been listening to them EVERY DAY in my car ever since. Timeless and better than the shiyza played on mainstream radio. I'm upset it took me 25 years to discover them.
Very underated band, so rare, wonderful...
The best of the best..
This song is extracted from the "Live at Camden Palace" Dvd.....
Great bands you listed. Also
The Cure
The Smiths
Joy Division
New Order
Echo and the Bunnymen
Hoodoo Gurus
Comsat Angels
Ride
Slowdive
English Beat

I saw them in Toulouse in south of France in 1983. Absolutly fantastic.......

is happening in the world today.. I post your song on my facebook so that

De nada amigo es un honor poder poner esto al alcance de gente que jamás los vio en directo....Ellos se lo pierden...
Yo los he visto 5 veces y espero la 6.Desde València... larga vida a los CHAMELEONS. 🎸🖤🎤
Mark Burgess....what a LEGEND....What a Band...
so amazingly powerful!!
Welcome aboard, Boudosaved....It's never too late to discover good music and great lyricists like Mark Burgess.....!
Sus albumes son "script of the bridge", "strange times", "What does anything mean basically", "Why call it anything"
El mejor es sin dudas el primero, script of the bridge.
Added to my favorites, thank you...
Amazing band! Would love to have seen them live. Great song :)
This is to emotional to bang your head even in the 80s.
aah...i love this band!
Great live song... I have the Chams UK and Mark with the Sons of Goo doing this... You don't get to hear this kind of music very often anymore.
Timeless.
This is just epic and magical live!
And it's funny because I don't care for the album version of this song, but I LOVE dis live version.
This is AMAZING!
Good Band
Love the songs Crank and Black Metallic by Catherine Wheel. I'm sure there are more that are less mainstream that are better. Slowdive reunion would kick ass. Aren't a couple of them in Mojave 3?
One of the best bands ever
The crowd shots in this say it all!
My favourite song!
Couldn't help but think of current conditions in London while watching this.
What kind of times are these
No one hears, no one sees...
Thank you for your support.Nice nickname, by the way!
SUCH EVERLASTING LYRICS
RIP John Lever, sadly another collaborator to the soundtrack of our lives has gone.

They played in London in 2001. Saw them then. Great gig

Yes you can buy it on dvd. I have it plus a separate gig officially released on dvd from 1984
As she parts her greying hair
Voices on the stair
When she turns there's someone there
Like a nightmare from the past
To the sound of splintered glass
Dance the monsters in the masks
Men of steel
Just stood laughing in the rain
Have you killed her
Someone said
As they dragged her from her bed
Kicking in her head
What kind of times are these
No one hears, no one sees
As they drive her to her knees
Men of steel
Just stood laughing in the rain
What kind of times are these
As they drive you to your knees
They just stood laughing in the rain
The rain
How can you laugh this one away
Will you ever laugh this one away
Oh man, that bassline is killer.
@enchantresss1 Hi this is not the official youtube page of the band. The official website is located at thechameleons dt c0m. This is just one fanpage among many others.....
RIP Sophie Lancaster x

Fucking awesome!!!!
Ah yes, the good old days, being crushed against the stage.
Is this footage from Script of Bridge Deluxe?
Too damned lucky... I envy you.
I'd wish that the last part of the song lasted forever.
I ageree u2 was nevr this good.. but boy by u2 was the bst music they ever did
the people arew not movign enough in this video. . .
i was slammin gto thios music wehen i saw then 24 years ago
The edge, the cocteaus, and curve, slowdive, ect, ect. At least we know the egg came first.
Excelente banda, de las mas respetables !!!!
I think what the chameleons prove is that, 'it was ever thus'.
Great choon though
Only seen them twice, once in 84 and last year. Both times at Miggleton civic hall(you have to be from there to understand the spelling), and still think they're better in the studio
so eighties, so good!
10 years before their time.
Try:
Martin Dupont
Deux
Icicle Works
Pink Industry
Humour Malade.
I think you might like them
❤️❤️❤️
A cult band !
Most underrated and in the world.
so fuckin fantastic
agree...but I am kinda glad Chameleons didnt blow up like the cure.. Chameleons rule the underground scene forever

Somethin bout that town.
france in 2020 be like
Kicks like a psp'd up rabid national hunt racehorse MagnificeNT
How are the Cure "hollow"? That's ridiculous.
your kidding right?
This sound was around decades ago.
Most criminally underrated band from the 80s. Was there at the gig. Was at UCL and went down in the afternoon.
what game ?
Not Underrated, look at the audience, they all disagree with you. And have all reported your wazzer comment.
Along with Adrian Borland and The Sound
