I've done TET Romania on my CRF300L in August, with my friend on CRF250L. It was absolutely amazing! Hoping to get there again. That dead end was not really dead end, it was one of possible trails up the hill. You have avoided some parts hard for loaded bike on street tires. The one downhill to Dragons point is quite hardcore even on adequate tires. The only concerning no-entry road was the short part over peak section of Calimani mountains. Local offroad guy advised me to go in the evening because all guards are at home then.
Yes, the TET was amazing 😃 we just got a bit annoyed, that we had to turn around several times, because of no-entry signs. We also didn't want to take the risk to just drive them, so we had to skip some parts. Most of the TET was doable with the luggage. Just the one part to reach the dragon section was really tricky, we also didn't see tracks, only a bit to the right were tracks, I followed them on foot for a while, but thought they go to a different direction, so we didn't ride there, but I think that would have been the track. In our second Romania video, we ride the southern dragon section, which was very ok.
I enjoyed watching your cool video, I doubt I'll ever ride in Romania but wish I could. Thanks for sharing your adventures and letting me see what the TET Romania is like
Czy byliby Państwo zainteresowani odwiedzeniem moto-rancza - parku motocyklowego o powierzchni 5 hektarów, gdzie można przejść różne tory przeszkód i doskonalić swoje umiejętności jazdy na motocyklu typu adventure? Planuję otworzyć taki park i zbieram opinie - czy byłoby to interesujące?
Hi @RTWriders, which mods do you run on your CRF? At a first glance I can see heated grips and increased tank. Guess that the suspension is replaced also, right?
I own this bike and several times I tried a long trip with it and must say "that pain was incredible" 😄 can't image how you feel, this bike is whatever just not for this.
What pain are you talking about? We rode this bike and the old version a few times around the world (~150000km) and there's no better bike for that on the market.
Excellent videos and a nice adventure! We did Romanian TET in the same direction a few weeks before you (mid-August). Awesome memories. th-cam.com/video/2hJbqIUpUko/w-d-xo.html The weather was better then, and we could also do the northern dragons. They were very exhausting and challenging. These large sticks/clubs were a good idea. Too bad that we didn't think of them. I must confess that, for me, these dogs ruined a large part of the trip. They added so much stress that I couldn't enjoy the moment anymore. I even crashed when I tried to outrun one herd of dogs and ran over one of them. I got bruises, bike got scratches, and the dog got hurt but was not insured. I ended up removing the DB killer and making the bike louder. I revved to the moon when the dogs arrived, which helped a little. At least I told myself that it helped. :) Now, three months later, thinking about where we should go next year - and doing Romania in the opposite direction sounds really tempting. Safe journeys!
Thanks, we're glad that you liked it. The herding dogs are indeed a big problem, also in e.g. North Macedonia. However, with the clubs you feel much safer and these dogs are luckily afraid of them. Although you really wouldn't like to have a fight - I guess they wouldn't like to "meet" our clubs either. It is still an unpleasant situation, but you're not standing there empty-handed at least. You could also check our new Montenegro and Albania videos. That might be also a good choice for you next year. TET Montenegro is absolutely awesome.
A treats-dispenser that works similarly to the chaff-throwers in fighter aircraft might be a good measure to get he herding dog's attention away from you. 🤗 …and with all of that holy water in your diet, you probably also, erm, had, erm… 🥴 Holy shit!!1! 🤗
@@RTWridersThank you for the answer. Do you remember what was the reason on the road close Borsa - I cannot read what is printed on a sign which you showed in the movie. It is interesting for me because I rode this year there and I have not noticed it - my mistake I hope without punishment.
@@MichaMaleckiZG Maramures Nature Park Reserve - that was a massive sign with a 10000 Lei (2000€) fine. However, it only might be when coming from the west, because we met other riders going the other direction and they hadn't seen it either.
@@MichaMaleckiZG I don't know ACTev. We used the newest GPX-track from transeurotrail.org, that should be updated but isn't and it also didn't look like it was just closed recently. Nevertheless, there was a big, red prohibition sign with a huge fine. I don't know how serious they take it, but we neither wanted to risk it, nor did we want to behave badly in a foreign country.
How cool Toby is such a entertainer with his sun dance 😆🤙
Yeah, Miriam wants to be entertained after riding all day.
Hey 👋
Enjoyed this one 👏👏
Hej 🙂
Thank you 😃🤗
Great to see another video from you guys. Love the easy layed back pace.😊
Thanks, we're glad that you like the video. Well, we're world travellers not racers, that's why we usually take it very relaxed ;-)
Amazing, finally a nice video about the Romanian TET, I'm planning to go there this summer :)
Thanks - you won't regret it. It's a great country to ride.

Very informative and easy watching video. How many days you spent on whole Romania?
Thanks - we spent around 2 weeks in Romania, but we usually like to take it easy.

Acerbis Tank, K-Tech valves for front suspension, Wilbers shock, 20mm higher risers, Oxford heated grips, Acerbis bash plate - I think that's it.

Do you know why the road was closed?
Usually it's a nature reserve - one was something like private wood industry + protected area.

yes, one has to take a bit care when camping in Romania.
