Hi Nurse Mendoza-- I think you should submit to the Khan Academy NCLEX teacher competition -- we need a good NCLEX-RN teacher that is relateable and makes the information "real" -- you can look up the requirements -- the deadline is Jan 17 and all you need to teach are 3 diseases or three videos (forgot which one) -- but I think the prize is you get paid for your teaching and Khan Academy is now supported by Bill Gates so not too shabby -- I hope you submit and good luck! -YZ
NurseMendoza i am a doctor from india... A post graduate student... Until now i was very poor in abg analysis... Ur video made it so simple and clear...
Nurse Mendoza, I'm a Nurse Practitioner and I LOVED your diagram!!! I reviewed my ABG's with you!!! Wow!!! It's fantastic!!! I will definitely teach my students using your method. You would be a wonderful Nursing Professor. You got the gift of Teaching!!! TYSM!!!
😷Wow, that means alost coming from you as an Nurse Practitioner my fellow @CardiacStrong NP Sister!! 🙌🏽. . Maybe 🤔 that might be something I’ll be doing in the near future & who knows what GOD has planned for me. Btw thanks for following and showing your support. Best regards, NurseMendoza
Thank you ..!! Mr Mendoza you are a life saver... I have to take my test tomorrow morning at 9am and your method of ABG interpretation is quick and easy to understand..! You made the difference between an A and a C for me in my life... Thanks a million..!
Don't just remember the numbers. Understand what they mean. The numbers (45-35) are flipped for PaCO2 because the more CO2 you have, the more acid (H+), which would make the pH more acidic. The lower your CO2, the higher your pH. 😉
And this video saves my life once again! NurseMendoza, you're an amazing teacher and I imagine you're an incredible nurse. I hope to work with and learn from people like you after I graduate my program!
I THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! Tomorrow I take my NCLEX. I had abg's 2 yrs ago at the beginning of nursing school..since then I have forgotten. I just cant thank you enough..and all my girls will be watching also as we go thru this bridge to RN together. God bless and thanks again
Also let me say...as an old person going back to school...im 49..u made me feel so at ease. Nursing school has been quite intimidating. Thanks for making this easy

This is the best video I have come across for ABGs as a medical student from the UK thank you for taking the time to make this video. You should do one on bloods and U&Es. You are very good at making things simple to understand.
Thank you! I am a nursing student and will be testing on ABG next week. You made it so easy to remember, thank you again for sharing your knowledge and I am looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thanks. Just wanted to add 3 items: Rule#1- For every 10 Units rise/fall in the PCo2 the Ph will change by 0.08 units in the opposite direction. Rule#2-For every 1 Unit rise/fall in PH the Hco3 will change in the same direction by 67 Units. To check the Base deficit/excess you need to calculate as below: -(Actual Ph-Predicted Ph)*67 Predicted PH(7.4-Calculation obtained from Rule #1).
I just wanted to say thank you SO much. The way you layed it out and went through it makes it so much easier to understand. Im the type of person who has to have things written out so this helped so much!!
