Sometimes you got to get things past you and finish what you started. Even Sonic kept going to finish adventures that came before him regardless of what circumstances that brought him there.

Very Sonic-ey track. God, this game is SO underrated. It's like a love letter to everything Mega Drive, from Sonic to Treasure games. And the level design is SO clever. Unbelieveable. It deserves more recognition.
@@jfiffl7 I take it you've never played the classic sonic games. The games that nearly buried Mario and Nintendo singlehandedly. "Sonic games were bad" lol. Sonic games weren't bad, but they certainly have become bad.
@@JorshusPrime your response couldn't be any more spot on than that, this game was originally gonna just be a small fan game sent to the yearly Sonic fan game competition (yes I had no idea at the time either) but it gained so much attention they decided to head to kickstarter to fully flesh it out. I was a late supporter but the creator Even let me become a beta tester, amazing watching and playing through its development process. A fantastic game that wouldn't exhist without sonic and some influence from treasure. It even had a character based around Megaman X... But was cut from the final game unfortunately...
Was already diggin' the game when I got to this point and was suddenly violently, yet lovingly, nostalgia-slapped 20 years into the past. Havent felt this much like a kid playing my old master system since... Well, since I was a kid playing my old master system. :p
As you get to Relic Maze, you sense a sacred energy from the ruins ahead. You make it through traps and puzzles, only to find a Master Emerald sized gem, and have it seized from you.
God, this Soundtrack is the best thing I've heard in my entire life. yes, I played games like Tomb Raider 1996 and God Of War II (with insanely good soundtracks, but this one hits different).
Let's be honest here... Who didn't know you could Dragon Boost up near the beginning of the stage to clear that section and spent 20 minutes trying to find some way to get up? Because I am guilty of that.
This, along with Relic Maze 2 and Sky Battalion are hands down my favorite stage themes in this game. I love how the music is always remixed for the 2nd half of each stage, very much like Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 3D Blast. That's honestly a really nice nostalgic throwback to those old games, and really emphasizes FP in itself as pretty much a Sonic reboot :)
Everyone always comparing Freedom Planet to Sonic (yes it was "officially" supposed to be a sonic fan game) but the similarities to SPARKSTER are much more prevalent. This stage is one of the best examples.
Almost perfect game (i think CGI or something like this would be better to see in some plots but anyway this is impressive result). Animation, Music, Gameplay 10/10. The best evolution of Sonic games.
at this point im replaying this game time to time just to hear this OST, altough the gameplay is impecable indeed but sometimes i miss the parry mechanic from FP2 lmao i got spoiled XD
Second stage here we go! the first act's music might not get as much love from me like the second act, but hey, just like EVERYTHING ON THIS SOUNDTRACK, this is good, and the best part comes from 1:48-2:14. The stage itself is kinda good, I liked the aspect of going two mini-stages to resume into the stage, and the map isn't as bad to going fast as some people say. All ending up with a good truck chasing scene and fighting the "not Combo Cannon's Claw from Revenge of Meta Knight" boss... or you know... you could just skip with a Dragon Boost... and get an achievement... That was a funny way to get an achievement not gonna lie. (Also something I forgot to praise about Freedom Planet, can we just talk about how the achievements can actually help you play better or faster? the fact that there was an achievement that said you could skip the claw boss already helps you a bunch in your future runs on this stage.)
That damn level… It was only this year that I was able to get past it, after continuously failing 4 years ago. It had great music though, so I couldn’t complain _too_ much. But thank goodness for Astro Crush.
I've actually heard of some "Sonic The Hedgehog x Freedom Planet: The Dawn Of Mobius" recently, which might be a possible Sonic x FP crossover fangame.
I think freedom planet 2 has the overall better sound track it has alot more stages then fp1 so the number of bangers in fp2 is greater but no song in fp 2 is as good as this one
lol. i'm not familiar with mixcraft loops, i only use that software to remaster midi files for fun. but is that bad? isn't this what they were made for in the first place?
Shout out to Dawn Bennett (Lilac's VA) for her angelic vocals in this track!
Her voice was turned into a sampled intrument in this track?
Edit: oh nvm, you meant near the last section.
Timestamp?
Edit: wait is it she doing an opera? LITERALLY WOW!
Yeah! 💜
Getting some PS1 era Mega Man vibes here. It's even got room for a "Ready!" in the opening.
Dude, you just made me love this game even more than I already do and that shouldn't be possible lol.
Yeah, this feels like a Megaman 8 song and i love it
@@akesan2374 I recently completed Mega Man 8 and I can definitely hear some of that vibe here, though I personally hear more X4 / X5 in it
I didn't want to finish the level because this song makes me teary eyed nostalgic about past Sonic games. Such a great song.

I like that Milla's results screen in the sequel used this as her leitmotif.
kinda fitting
Oh, and her theme in her final scene with Aaa
0:31 "She's a maniac, MANIAC, on the floor!"
oohhhh what did you do... ill never unhear that. XD
+Sonicdash0 Yeah. I remembered it from somewhere.
+Astral Shadow I heard the EXACT same thing the first time I heard this song. xD

facts
I’m probably the only person who does this, but whenever I listen to this song, it just makes me start running with a confident smile on my face
This stage may have taken me 20 minutes on my first run, but this music made me enjoy every second.
For me its greatest song in whole freedom planet :D
+papsi20 I'd put it as 2nd best after Dragon Valley (Zone 1) theme. ;)

In my opinion the best theme in the game, and one of the most of the most memorable, along with the final boss theme
She’s a maniac
... Why are my eyes tearing up?
Best song on the entire OST. The nostalgic feels are reals.

by far the best song in this game.

The first few seconds are my favorite part...wish there was more of that guitar
Has to be my favourite
I'm getting some vibes of 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' by Ryuichi Sakamoto, at the beginning of this one. Except this has a much livelier tempo.
+Sepecat Woh, i didn't expect someone to know this music here + now that you mentioned it, i must agree with you. Great music by the way
+Sepecat Ooh, he worked with my favourite music artist, Thomas Dolby, on his song Fieldwork :)
I thought Utada Hikaru did that one? Or maybe a cover??
I came across this game yesterday. I love it so much, but I still need to save up to get the full version on Steam ;-;
