Marner's overall is a bit low, but that gets a pass. But his potential and trade value are absolutely terrible. You can currently trade a late first round pick for him straight up. They're definitely going to have to make him a lot better because any of the 3 (Marner, Strome, Hanifin) could have been picked first overall in a draft without McDavid or Eichel. Also consider that he's being compared to a Giroux or Kane, so having low elite is kind of underwhelming compared to Strome's and Hanifin's medium elite. (For those who don't play Be A Gm it's a really big difference with trade value and his peak overall)

EA's ratings in general are a joke for the NHL series. Every player feels the same because they all have the same stats, give or take a couple points. There needs to be more variety between player ratings (ie. prospects should be in the 50-60s at best, 4th liners should be 60s, 3rd liners 70s, etc.). They also give good defensive/physical stats to good offensive players just to boost their rating. Makes absolutely no sense.
