On landing on the uneven surface of the moon etc, I wondered about the use of lander/airbag systems, like the ones used to land on mars, but rather than impact protection you could inflate a rigid set around the base of the starship and then a program could auto adjust inflation at different points to amend vertical angle nearly instantly to ensure no tip over, I doubt that would work on Mars but on the moon the low gravity would probably allow for it.

Blue does have a prototype/ structural test article as well, but the booster that was rolled out to recently isn't a prototype, it's a genuine flight article ment to take payload (Originally EscaPADE, but now Blue Ring prototype hardware) into orbit. They also have more than one new Glenn rocket in production, it's just that only one is close to launch.
They will succed on the first try the engines are proven. They will have taken longer than spacex but likely are a better fit for at least earthorbit missions.
It’s fascinating to see how regulatory challenges come into play for both SpaceX and Blue Origin. Innovations aside, these compliance hurdles remind us that space isn’t just about engineering but policy as well. A crucial insight many might overlook!

@Off-Grid Yup. I agree with you. Ever since Elon bought Twitter, his politics and ego just get in the way of everything. He's likely to end up being one of the reasons why humanity needs to find another planet to live on. I've spent years admiring his companies engineering prowess with amazement, ignoring his more abrasive side, but his promotion of right-wing violence in the UK exacerbating the riots over here was just a step too far for me.
@@JonathanEarly-f9j couldn't agree more. He should have just kept doing what he does and kept his mouth shut and his opinions to himself. All this says to me is that moment we step foot on another planet via a Space X ship all the bad things on Earth go with it. The worst of humanity now spreading on another celestial body instead of peace, unity, and a new beginning.
Yes, what we saw MUST be an early version of a mockup for Starship. One thing that isn't taken into account on that design is center of gravity. With all of the bedrooms for astronauts on one side that would put the center of gravity too far to that side of the space ship. They will need to take mass and weight into account and make sure it is even or they will have a rocket that won't be able to steer straight and the last thing we need is a space ship uses all its fuel while a wheel (you know what I mean) is out of alignment. Anyway, they only released the drawings for a very early version just to mess with people because Elon would never let them make public a close to production version of the layout. It's definitely a very early draft. Also, the likelihood that there will be viewports that astronauts would be able to look out of before exiting the space craft and stepping foot on the moon is unlikely because staring at a screen will not help them get their bearings before the moon or maybe even a space walk. There is still a possibility that they could add another ring to Starship to make the storage area larger. It wouldn't add a significant amount of weight compared to the weight of the whole space ship and they could still use up the whole section that they are partially entering for the tank and fill that whole section with a bigger tank while adding another ring.
I still think there are newer Star ships once the test campaign winds down. I can see a special version of ship as the in orbit fuel depot, as it doesn’t need a full load as well as any cargo space. How about a new optical telescope which is pushed to a higher orbit by a space tug vehicle.
CSI Starbase suggests that Raptor 3 will use methane for endogenous pressurization of the methane tank, rather than the exhaust gas from the fuel-rich turbopump which includes carbon-dioxide which froze and plugged the fuel intakes.
Autogenous. Yes, that’s one way of getting rid of the problem! It would make a lot of things easier. He talks a lot to SpaceX engineers and releases IP that shouldn’t be released. That’s why I normally don’t quote them. WAI doesn’t cross that line. ❤️
Amazing feats already achieved and it seems other major ones just on the horizon but it looks like tons of work is ahead to be done. Some of what spacex are (and will be) doing are stand-alone industries and just imagining the scale of what it will take to get just living on the moon working at scale starts to stretch my imagination. Still i imagine what's required for Mars is some factors more of what we establish works for the moon. SUPER EXCITING. Godspeed to all parties involved 🙌🏾

You’re referring to the ship but the number for the booster is accidentally outlined which makes it seem as though it’s not a 25% increase. Small editing mistake that had me feeling a little confused for a moment!
what the actual FUUUUU ? i start the video and a AI voice is speaking to me in german :D i mean i am a german but WTF ? :D i watch always in english because i need that pron voice from felix :D
Great video Felix 👍
I still find it absolutely crazy they thought they wouldn't need a flame diverter.
Thank you Felix I enjoy your content
BO has one prototype booster ?? and everyone is getting there hopes up BO has never reached orbit yet..fingers crossed all goes well then..
Yeah, as much as I love to clown on BO and that its smell will never reach orbit I hope they will succeed. I do want as many Private companies competing in space as possible.
@@ReiseLukas Yes, as long as the government stays out of picking losers, by punishing them because the companies' owners have the right to their own political views. This is the fear of "competition" is that the government is really who creates monopolies in the first place.
@@DannyBowen25 agreed
Blue does have a prototype/ structural test article as well, but the booster that was rolled out to recently isn't a prototype, it's a genuine flight article ment to take payload (Originally EscaPADE, but now Blue Ring prototype hardware) into orbit. They also have more than one new Glenn rocket in production, it's just that only one is close to launch.
They will succed on the first try the engines are proven. They will have taken longer than spacex but likely are a better fit for at least earthorbit missions.
As a person from Spain, please make the audio better XD
The ship is not the same size Felix, it’s now 1 ring taller
StarShip doesn't use "fairings". Fairings are disposable (for non-SpaceX rockets) covers used to improve aerodynamics.
Please remove auto-dubbed. It's the worst thing and TH-cam set it as default. I no longer can go back to original English audio on my tv, it sucks
@@rslfilho Very easy on phone and PC
It’s fascinating to see how regulatory challenges come into play for both SpaceX and Blue Origin. Innovations aside, these compliance hurdles remind us that space isn’t just about engineering but policy as well. A crucial insight many might overlook!
Cant watch that like this xD. Please fix that xD. I first thought, you do the first 15 seconds like this to ask us to subscribe so we dont have to deal with those horrendous AI channels xD
It's an automatic TH-cam feature. You can switch the audio track!
@@Whataboutit Not all apps have english as an option.
Thanks. Great update
what the f**** is this translation hell with this horrible audio tracks...
Don't candy coat it, tell us how you really feel!
But seriously, do you really need to use all that invective?
Dude this makes me so freaking excited for the future
Unfortunately I can no longer support Elon. I'm all about space but not with his leadership anymore.
@@JonathanEarly-f9j The electric car and solar guy is the reason we will need a new planet? How delusional have you people become?
Left wingers talking about violence, funny 😂
Bye bye 😂
@@JonathanEarly-f9j couldn't agree more. He should have just kept doing what he does and kept his mouth shut and his opinions to himself. All this says to me is that moment we step foot on another planet via a Space X ship all the bad things on Earth go with it. The worst of humanity now spreading on another celestial body instead of peace, unity, and a new beginning.
When you talked about ship's 2's extra 300 tones of propellant - you highlighted the booster's row.
Great job explaining so I can understand.
Howdy from Temple, Texas!
Howdy! 🤠
An impressive, informative episode. Warmest compliments. Thank you, sir. :)
thanks for this very informative episode lots of really good updates in this one
Thanks man!
8:40 I think the biggest change is the heat shield
I’m hoping Blue Origin succeeds, I think the competition is good for the industry in the long term.
I can see and feel the excitement oozing out of you Felix @Whataboutit
You forgot the horizontal bit when rendering the crew cabins in the HLS mock-up
Thanks!
Starship is the first futuristic ship interior that resembles what we see in sci fi movies. That was a small version of the bridge on the Enterprise.
I really like the way the flaps look on the v2
Good one Felix 🕊️🌵
10:58 350/3300 isn’t even close to 25%… don’t you mean 10%?
the biggest change apart from the front flaps in my opinion is the hight
