My conclusion: I have definitely gone back 40 years. Thank you to this exceptional group of Japanese women. Grace, beauty, power and technicality. I believe they surpass everything I have listened to in my life ... They crush the male groups that I know including the famous ones ....
From the perspective of those well-established male Metal bands, the skills of these exceptional ladies are just outrageous. But excellence and joy will always make their way. As an old school metal rocker from the 60s 70s who has been depressed with the state of rock for the past decades, who would have thought the resurrection of Metal would come from Japanese women? Lovebites and Band-Maid have really caught my attention. (And I couldn't care less that I don't speak Japanese. They are that good!!)
Yeah mate they've got that effect to let you speechless. You just sow the winners of the 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are formed in 2016 in Tokyo from Miho the bassist and Haruna the drummer, the other members Asami the vocalist Miyako the guitarist with the black hair and Midori the other guitarist. They've got 3 albums till now and the last one Electric pentagram from this year is nominated for the top 20 best albums for 2020 year. Now i really want to recommended some songs, you need to see them live. The songs are from their last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year. First one is Thunder vengeance, also Rise some hell, Holy war, Dance with the devil, Signs of deliverance We the United., Shadowmaker Swan song. I'm stopping right here all their songs are masterpiece. For me it's my opinion lovebites are the best female power metal band in the world at the moment. You have to see what they do it on the stage live. I know by my self, I sow them already in 2018 and 2019 in Wacken Germany and UK. It's just amazing to see so talented and skilled band. LOVEBITES have been around since 2016. They have like 3 or 4 albums already. They are pretty good and power metal goddesses! Asami's vocals are something you have to get used to though. You've done BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES. Now it's time to finish the epic Japanese metal trilogy with "Black Pentagram" by Unlucky Morpheus. Do it man. You won't regret it. Also, you might wanna react to DragonForce if you never have. They are a British power metal band with a similar sound and I think you'll really enjoy them. Try the song "Heroes of Our Time".
Its one thing to play fast, but to be precise, melodic, balanced, and talented is a hard combination to deny. These women are going to be one to be reckoned with.

Awesome reaction! Japan has so many great female guitarists: Hanako of Octaviagrace, Saki of Mary's Blood, Yuki of D-Drive, and obviously these two are my faves. Also, check out Unlucky Morpheus - Cadaver/Redavac. Japanese power metal with the legend Fuki on vocals and Jill on violin. It's a super group with all the players from other projects.
right guitarist miyako has a dean and plays mostly dean but has an arsenal of weapons at her disposal ' left guitarist midori plays esp guitars almost exclusively. 2 of the most amazing players out there. and as a team they will melt your face and break your heart. bassist miho and the nuclear reactor drummer haruna were in early girl's metal band 'destrose' another killer group that disbanded in 2015. they picked up vocalist asami who had been a backup singer in a couple of bands and now you see the result. probably now my favorite group ever. started in late 2016 and have put out 4 epic cd's of shredding awesomeness. with incredible solos in almost every song. don't stop now !
It's a double edged sword for me. It's great to see the ladies getting the recognition they deserve but as the weeks and months go by I'm feel I'm slowly losing my hidden secret and the chances to see them perform in small clubs is diminishing very quickly. They'll EXPLODE when the pandemic is over and we'll be stood 50 feet away from an arena stage compared to how it has been in the past. Selfish? You bet but I kind of liked being stood at the feet of this amazing band. Thanks for reacting. Enjoy the ride. They are Lovebites. And they play heavy metal.

i second that - i like babymetal. i love band maid. but lovebites just make me lose my mind. so much talent and beauty it's just not fair. my favorite band in the last 40 years
That happens when you find out about J-Rock and all female bands. The solo was 1:17 long :) Most here mention Lovebites and Band-Maid, but Scandal is equally talented and 14 years running where they have their own production company, they all do song writing, arrangements, lyrics and singing. Then you have Mary's Blood 12 years, Aldious 10 years, Nemophila a new-ish band, Doll$$box, Passcode, and many more. Some active some not. I believe there is about 100 or so all female bands in variety of Rock and Metal genres. Lovebites have the most talented musicians in my honest opinion. Miyako is also classical pianist, plays bass, sings and does most of song writing and arrangements, though they all participate. Asami, the singer does most of their lyrics. You have to watch Thunder Vengeance from Zepp or 5 of a Kind live, Epilogue (one of best ballads in last maybe two decades) and Signs of Deliverance. I recommend Zepp live performance where they get on a catwalk and do dual guitars with over hand tapping in perfect harmony. Then you get into mixed bands like Babymetal, Asterism and Wagakki Band, and then into all male like One OK Rock and at the end you get confused and mind-blown with Visual Key. Quite a long lasting journey if you get into it.
They toured with Dragonforce in the UK. Herman Li even joined them onstage for a song at one gig. he looked ever so sweet in a little white dress! lol Seriously though they are one hell of a band. Try the song "Swansong" in the live version; th-cam.com/video/QUGCQ1FTB0g/w-d-xo.html
First that solo is one thing LOVEBITES is known for long luscious solos and second they are as impressive live as they are in official videos maybe even more live, and a great reaction by the way

Haruna (Drumer / co founder of the band) kills it, Miho (bassist / co founder of the band) kills it, Midori (the tanned guitarist) and Miyako (the one with the Dean Guitar) melt faces with their shredding (as usual), and Asami (Lead Singer) lets loose here vocal abilities... And, oh yes, did I mention this video is LIVE!!!
My latest guilty pleasure; all these amazing all female Japanese speed metal bands. Lovebites is my favorite, but there are so many if them. Can't stop listening to all of them. Love your reaction "just can't pause during a guitar solo...". I agree
interestingly both guitarists started playing relatively late. Midori who plays the white ESP started when she was twenty and Miyako, who plays the Dean started at eighteen. Miyako also trained has trained as a classical pianist from the age of three and plays a mean bass. Miyako is the maib songwriter and arranger abnd you can hear influences of Chopin and Rachmaninof in some of her compositions for Lovebites.They are now both in their mid to late twenties. Before Lovebites both played in death metal/metalcore bands. Check out Lovebites "Epilogue", "We the United" "Shadowmanker" and "Thunder Vengance" (all live recordings). Also check out their live set at Wacken, Germany in 2018. You are in for a treat with all the recommendations you have received for future Lovebites, reactions. A couple of their MV's break for a promotion and then resume. As others have said, they are this good live. Miyako, with the Dean guitar also plays keyboards. She started at three years old and is classically trained. Miho, bass, writes the songs I believe?
You’ll even be more impressed when they perform live. Def chk out Rising, Hammer of wrath, Break the wall, Raise some hell, We the United, Scream for me, Bravehearted, signs of deliverance, Holy war, Epilogue, Swan song & Shadowmaker. Great reaction dude! These girls rock so hard. This was a straight up power metal song but they also do other variations of metal. They have quite a few thrash metal songs, a few metal songs with a classic rock vibe, and even a couple ballads. They always have some amazing guitar leads but I think this was probably one of my favourite leads of all their songs. For an official music video I'd suggest "Rising" and for a live performance I think I'd go with "Holy war" or maybe "Thunder vengeance". Thunder vengeance is super trashy though so be prepared!

right guitarist miyako has a dean and plays mostly dean but has an arsenal of weapons at her disposal ' left guitarist midori plays esp guitars almost exclusively. 2 of the most amazing players out there. and as a team they will melt your face and break your heart. bassist miho and the nuclear reactor drummer haruna were in early girl's metal band 'destrose' another killer group that disbanded in 2015. they picked up vocalist asami who had been a backup singer in a couple of bands and now you see the result. probably now my favorite group ever. started in late 2016 and have put out 4 epic cd's of shredding awesomeness. with incredible solos in almost every song. don't stop now !

It's a double edged sword for me. It's great to see the ladies getting the recognition they deserve but as the weeks and months go by I'm feel I'm slowly losing my hidden secret and the chances to see them perform in small clubs is diminishing very quickly.
They'll EXPLODE when the pandemic is over and we'll be stood 50 feet away from an arena stage compared to how it has been in the past.

i second that - i like babymetal. i love band maid. but lovebites just make me lose my mind. so much talent and beauty it's just not fair. my favorite band in the last 40 years
That happens when you find out about J-Rock and all female bands. The solo was 1:17 long :) Most here mention Lovebites and Band-Maid, but Scandal is equally talented and 14 years running where they have their own production company, they all do song writing, arrangements, lyrics and singing. Then you have Mary's Blood 12 years, Aldious 10 years, Nemophila a new-ish band, Doll$$box, Passcode, and many more. Some active some not. I believe there is about 100 or so all female bands in variety of Rock and Metal genres.
Lovebites have the most talented musicians in my honest opinion. Miyako is also classical pianist, plays bass, sings and does most of song writing and arrangements, though they all participate. Asami, the singer does most of their lyrics. You have to watch Thunder Vengeance from Zepp or 5 of a Kind live, Epilogue (one of best ballads in last maybe two decades) and Signs of Deliverance. I recommend Zepp live performance where they get on a catwalk and do dual guitars with over hand tapping in perfect harmony.
Then you get into mixed bands like Babymetal, Asterism and Wagakki Band, and then into all male like One OK Rock and at the end you get confused and mind-blown with Visual Key.
Quite a long lasting journey if you get into it.
J-Metal*** rock is for softies that can't handle heavy music but still want to seem cool

interestingly both guitarists started playing relatively late. Midori who plays the white ESP started when she was twenty and Miyako, who plays the Dean started at eighteen. Miyako also trained has trained as a classical pianist from the age of three and plays a mean bass. Miyako is the maib songwriter and arranger abnd you can hear influences of Chopin and Rachmaninof in some of her compositions for Lovebites.They are now both in their mid to late twenties. Before Lovebites both played in death metal/metalcore bands. Check out Lovebites "Epilogue", "We the United" "Shadowmanker" and "Thunder Vengance" (all live recordings). Also check out their live set at Wacken, Germany in 2018. Their live performances and louder and heavier than their studio recordings.

As others have said, they are this good live. Miyako, with the Dean guitar also plays keyboards. She started at three years old and is classically trained. Miho, bass, writes the songs I believe?

Great reaction dude! These girls rock so hard. This was a straight up power metal song but they also do other variations of metal. They have quite a few thrash metal songs, a few metal songs with a classic rock vibe, and even a couple ballads. They always have some amazing guitar leads but I think this was probably one of my favourite leads of all their songs. For an official music video I'd suggest "Rising" and for a live performance I think I'd go with "Holy war" or maybe "Thunder vengeance". Thunder vengeance is super trashy though so be prepared!
