The NHL is a better place when Stamkos is healthy and doing his thing 20 minutes a game. Hope he fully recovers from his current set of ailments. Can only imagine where he would end his career among all-time greats if his body was not always failing him.
If he were healthy we'd probably have Stamkos and Ovechkin racing towards Gretzky's goal mark. That would have been interesting. Gotta tip my hat to Ovi though, staying healthy is a skill (with a high degree of luck as well).
Oh my god i've never seen a goal like that before in my life, i've watched many different highlights from many different players including stamkos and this is the first time i seen that goal he pulled off at number 1, to me, this puts ovi's goal against phx at 2nd on my list, still a heck of a goal from ovechkin, but this one...he connects with the one timer from lecavalier, then as he's falling backwards, bats it in mid air with his backand and scores the rebound. That's just unbelievable.
We've had some amazing hockey in florida the last 20 years. Some truly great canadians have called Tampa home. I've enjoyed watching it and being apart of it.
Hey now don't forget about the Russians. Bolts are still the only team to win it all with a starting Russian goalie, which they've done three times now.
@@PhoenixThomasITB He's already better and has as many Rocket trophies. All Stammer has is a few accumulated seasons that bring his totals closer to 500 but Matthews will easily have 500 by the time he's Stammers age
Steven Stamkos is one hell of athlete. There's no two ways about it. But then you look at Steven Stamkos the man. When he's on TV or radio for an interview he don't talk about what he did he talks about what the team did we did this we did that. He doesn't call people out for not doing as good as they should have I'm sure in the locker room he may have words. He doesn't use selfish words even though he could rightfully use them, and he doesn't say things to embarrass his teammates in public. That's being a very team-oriented player. And then you look at how we leads his life, you don't hear about him getting DUIs you don't hear about domestic violence you don't hear any other scandals. He's a good man. And that is more important than anything he does on the ice.
I think you guys are missing how important Stamkos was in the season to help turning the ship around and how much his presence in the locker room and all of his speeches before, during, and after games was.
@Jeremy Banks Stammer was the one who set the standard in taking pay cuts in tampa. Days after he resigned for 8.5 mill, hedman signs for 7.8 mill. kuch, vasy, and point all took paycuts after that as well. If stammer didnt do that, who knows what that team looks like right now. not to mention he was a big part of the reason they made it into the playoffs and secured a top 2 spot, allowing them to get passed the play in round.

#3 banned in today's NHL. #1 was kind of fluky. For a guy with arguably one of the greatest one-timers in NHL history, its surprising that not a single one made this list. Perhaps too routine and not unique enough?
Dude's had over 400 goals in the NHL. How many of them have been one-timers from the faceoff circle? There's so many goals to choose from they should be picking out the flashy/unique ones. #3 was still an amazing goal even if it isn't allowed in today's game and #1 being a little lucky doesn't take away from the fact that he still knocked the puck out of the air and into the net while falling backwards. I'm shocked they decided to include a goal from the all star game though, they might as well take goals he scored in practice too.
The ONLY reason I want Tampa to win again is because i want them to win while Stamkos plays every game and lights it up like we know he can. If not for stammer I couldn't care less about Tampa.
Did you actually watch the play? Stammer batted it in. Everyone else saw that. I am not sure what you were loxking at, unless you are just a troll.

Sport Net what are you Stamkos's new agent now that he is being shopped around. In today's market I don't see any team taking that contract on a declining career. Great player but his best days are behind him and all the money owed is in front of him and the team that takes him.
Declining? He had a career year last year. 45 goals and 98 points. also hes not being shopped, he has a no-move clause that he has to waive. hes not going anywhere lol
I was so happy to see him finally get a cup
It sucks he didn't play more than that one game. Would have loved to see him out there leading his team on the ice
@@wooptyblue3700 but the one goal he got was everything that was the juice to keep us pushing to win just Dallas didn’t have a chance after that
@Connor Maguire Just as awful as getting swept by the Leafs, Jets, and the Golden Knights!
What about his second cup 😂
what about now?

Update: just sparked his team to a huge game 3 dub in another SCF
@@Adam-pk9ro Colorado was the better team, no shame in 3 SCFs in a row though.

Dudes an amazing talent, imagine if he was 100% healthy. He’s already consistently one of the best.
I was at the game for goal 10, I was fairly concerned Cogliano actually hurt himself. Looked pretty rough in person.
I was there too. Nasty goal though lol
@@jedijack44 Oh yeah after he got up and I saw he was fine I had a pretty good laugh about how hard he got destroyed.
Guy plays 3 shifts in the SCF and scores a goal. What a g
i would've put his goal from the cup final this year higher up, that was pretty much the biggest goal of his career
I was thinking the same thing.
Same, I'm surprised it wasn't at least in the top 3. The others were flashier but that one just meant so much more.
Once of the few times where I prefer the commentary from NBCSN. Not a Pierre fan, but his call was great on that goal.
It’s easily the most important, and it’s the goal he will be remembered for.

Stammer is such a beauty
Why he hate Ottawa so much tho
Ik I was gonna say how funny that is
Probably because hes from Toronto ...
And Price, he embarrassed him twice
Stamkos is hands down 1 of the best pure goal scorers in NHL history. He's that good. Top 5 for sure. Maybe higher.
Top five ever? No way. Ovi, Bossy, Lemieux, Gartner, Bure and even Matthews were or are better. His peak season was amazing though
Matthews has to do it for a longer stretch of time to pass stammer

Greatest to ever play in tampa. Legend ⚡️
Nah
Agreed but MSL is right up there with him.
Very underrated skater aswell, Steven is great!
His coast to coast goal vs Montreal in the 2014 playoffs should be here
God he looked so damn cool with the full jersey tuck and long hair and beard

Welcome to Smashville!! 💙💛
Notice how for all of the Ottawa goals certified plug Eric Gryba is on the ice. That’s all I gotta say.
that number one is maybe the best of all time.
You can't deny these beauts!
Why does Bob Cole always sound like he has no idea whats going on?
"Ohhhh what a chance that was"
*pucks in the net*
5 seconds after the puck goes in “oh and they scorrrrre”
Well to be fair (to be faiiiir) he was like 80 there, prime Bob Cole was the best. Still enjoyed listening to him call the games later on though
Lmao I thought the same
5:26 lol he blasted ice all up in his face
#9 against Dallas is the goal that propelled us to the Cup!
Wow. So I was going to say no.9 should have been no.1. But having just seen no.1 for the first time. I now think no.9 should be no.2 🤣⚡️⚡️😳
He is a boss
No. 9 is the one that will be remembered the longest...
Stamkos himself said his best goal was the one in the Stanley cup final against Dallas. It should be at least top 5
#1 IMO...he took that pass and buried it...
Lightning's best goal scorer of all time
My favourite player 👍💪🇨🇦💪👍
What would the lightning be without this man
Still would have a cup
I think you guys are missing how important Stamkos was in the season to help turning the ship around and how much his presence in the locker room and all of his speeches before, during, and after games was.
These people saying they still would have won.. don't realize the impact a great captain has on a team.

Idk about the all star goal at 5 or anywhere on this list
Yeah it's a nice goal don't get me wrong, but like an all-star goal. Really?
Steven "sens killer" Stamkos

That’s what a captain does

Advanced stats nerds will say he's horrible😂
Great player! Just sad that he’s made of glass..
that's the drawback of finesse, you get fragile!! same with crosby!!
Him and Crosby hope laffrenie isn’t glass
Hi
His 2 best goals assisted by the great one himself Vinny lecavalier
Whatta legend hey
Seemed like post-concussions really messed him up. Hated to see it.
