I've been using Massive for sub bass/808s for years. it's so clean. I will say (and I'm not sure if it's possible in drift,) I use separate oscillators for the kick attack and sustain/bass note. I also turn off the key tracking for the kick osc so the kick sound is the same no matter what note is played. Not quite the same as an 808, a little more modern. It's super clean though.
