- Salat al-Tanjeena (Arabic: صلاة التنجینا; ṭhe Prayer of Deliverance) or Salat al-Munjiyya (Arabic: صلاة المنجية; the Prayer of Rescue), commonly known as Durood Tanjeena in South Asia and Shalawat Munjiyat in the Far East is a widely known and powerful prayer upon the Prophet ﷺ. It was transmitted by Shaykh Musa al-Darir.
Darood Tanjeena appears in the famous Dala’il al-Khayrat composed by Imam al-Jazuli, specifically in the third hizb that is recited on Wednesday. Shaykh Hasan ibn Ali al-Aswani, in his exposition of Dalail al-Khayrat, mentions: “Anyone who invokes with this prayer 1000 times during an adversity or unforeseen difficulty will be delivered from it by Allah, and Allah will cause him to realise his wishes.”
It is further mentioned that: “Anyone who invokes with this prayer frequently during the outbreak of a plague will be safe from it, and anyone who invokes with it frequently when embarking on the sea will be safe from drowning.”
Muhyiddin ibn Arabi says: “It is one of the treasures of the arsh (throne). One who supplicates with this prayer 1000 times in the midst of the night for any desire - be it for this world or the next - Allah will fulfil their desire. It will be answered more swiftly than a flash of lightning.”
He further said: “Its secrets should remain hidden and not be mentioned to those who would not understand them.”
One of the gnostics also said: “anyone who reads it 500 times will attain whatever he wishes of profit and wealth, Allah willing. It is tried and tested and true for all of those situations.”
Shaykh Muhammad Haqqi Effendi al-Nazili adds: “This salutation has been recited in various numbers up to 4000 (in another version 12,000). Every group recites it according to what they find effective. People have found its benefits and secrets accordingly, and have witnessed relief from difficulties and in the attainment of their goals…”
Shaykh Ahmad al-Buni and Imam al-Jazuli have both mentioned the benefits and subtleties of this salutation, but they did not reveal its secrets, being wary of allowing them to fall into the hands of the ignorant.
Allah’ım! Efendimiz Muhammed’e (asm) ve onun Ehl-i beytine salât eyle. Bu salâvat o derece değerli olsun ki: Onun hürmetine bizi bütün korku ve belalardan kurtarırsın. Bizim ihtiyaçlarımızı o salâvat hürmetine yerine getirirsin, bizi bütün günahlardan bu salâvat hürmetine temizlersin, o salâvat hürmetine bizi derecelerin en üstüne yüceltirsin, o salâvat hürmetine hayatta ve öldükten sonra düşünülebilecek bütün hayırlar konusunda gayelerin en sonuna kadar ulaştırırsın.

جَمِيعِ اْلاَحْوَالِ وَاْلآفَاتِ وَتَقْضِى لَنَا بِهَامِنْ جَمِيعَ الْحَاجَاتِ وَتُطَهِّرُنَا بِهَا مِنْ جَمِيعِ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَتَرْفَعُنَا بِهَا عِنْدَكَ اَعْلَى الدَّرَجَاتِ.وَتُبَلِّغُنَا بِهَا اَقْصَى الْغَايَاتِ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْخَيْرَاتِ فِى الْحَيَاتِ وَبَعْدَ الْمَمَاتِ.
Allahumma salli `ala sayyidina Muhammadin salaatan tunjinaa bihaa min jamee`i ’l ahwaali wa’l-aafaat, wa taqdee lanaa bihaa min jamee`i ’l-haajaat, wa tutahhirunaa bihaa min jamee`i ’s-sayyi’aat, wa tarfa`unaa bihaa `indaka `alaa ’d-darajaat, wa tuballighunaa bihaa aqsaa ’l-ghaayaat min jamee‘i ’l-khayraati fi ’l-hayaat wa ba`d al-mamaat.
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham قدس سرّه said that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim قدس سرّه highly recommends to recite Salaat at-Tunjeena:
O Allah! Exalt Muhammad with blessings that deliver us from every fear, and by means of them fulfill our every need, and purify us by means of them from every sin, and by means of them raise us to the highest stations, and by means of them make us attain the furthest degrees in all that is good in this life and in the life after death.

Anas Ibn Malak reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah… will erase ten sins from him, and will raise him ten degrees in status.”The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold”. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who sent the most blessings upon me.” Imam Nawawi states, “Nearest to me” signifies “those who are most entitled to my intercession”.Umar Ibn Khattab said, “Duaa is suspended between heaven and earth and none of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your Prophet ﷺ”. your needs will be satisfied, and your sins forgiven.
