Some of the priorities of the party include the expropriation of land without compensation and the nationalisation of strategic sectors of the economy.
Good Morning Cape Town presenter, Lester Kiewit interviews Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema about the party's plan ahead of the 2024 general elections.

I do not know where your son goes to school, but I went to a school where you can do Zulu as second additional language instead of Afrikaans. So maybe look for schools in regions where Afrikaans is not compulsory, you could be in a region where Afrikaans is compulsory.

Nationalization is the process of taking privately-controlled companies, industries, or assets and putting them under the control of the government. He has flip-flopped once again. He intends to create a state-owned bank(African Bank is already a state-owned bank), state-owned mines(AEMFC already exists). Not sure what the reality of the land is about anymore. We have 7 million tax payers money in this country. If we open our borders to the rest of africa, whose liable to pay for all the services required to run a country? the tax payers?. Infrastructural development, grants, health, education ect... As South africans we are paying rates and services. If we allow 100 million people in this country, whose gonna pay for the services required for them? Those numbers are unsustainable.
Secondly my uncles Hilux was recovered near the border of Mozambique, if he says borders must be opened how can this country control criminal elements like that? Obviously Border Management Authority and home affairs will be redundant as good as useless. Its like living in a house without a fence. How many Bakkies have been stolen and not recovered?
I can't commment on the first point because I haven't heard the EFF speak on this. To clarify on the second point, I believe what the EFF mean in this regard is that they want to make the continent more accessible for it's people, so the borders will remain as a point of control and they'll still have policies in place to mitigate against crime.
@@ntuthukobophela4645 Borders never hindered access to any country but to seave or illiminate the unwanted. SA is highly migrant tolerant, than any other country in the world. There are currently no restrictions holding back any law abiding Foreigners unless its illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigration is a crime in any country in the world. So PanAfricanists want in particular South Africans to open its borders to the whole continent. Meanwhile South Africans do not even have ambitions to relocate to other African countries, its wrong. The UK has tons of migrants from africa, that doesn't mean their citizens have interests in african economy. We can build and have a free trading deals whilst our borders are stronger. We have relationships with Germany and the Americans but you don't see them in our communities.
Malema is crazy he doesn't want law. We don't care about the berlin conference, those days are gone. We want border for our own safety and security. You cannot win a war without strong borders forget. Therefore as a sovereign state we took that decision to have borders, let it be so forever.

Borders do hinder access though - 64% of our own people live below the ppoverty line, which means those 64%, 41% of coloured people too, so that means they are not likely to ever see any part of the continent because they can't afford to pay the R1500-00+ for a passport, even if people like ourselves perhaps, wanted to take them to a ski-resort in Lesotho for a weekend. Also, SA isn't even in the top 10 for most migrant friendly countries in the world, so we aren't as migrant friendly as you think, unless you were refering to illegal migrants? In which case I can't comment cause I have not done any reading on the matter.
I know a few South Africans who are curious about moving to the fastest growing economies on the continent (Niger, Senegal, Libya, Rwanda, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Benin , Djibouti, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda) - I have a family member who moved to East Africa because of career opportunities, if I know a few, and I'm not a very social person, then I'd imagine there's a decent amount of South African's who'd move to other African countries, I know I would. I think SA's are arrogant and quite ignorant in thinking the rest of the continent has nothing to offer when they have sooooo much - my wife has family in Zambia and yes they have their challenges as country, but they still have a lot to offer. Wrt the UK not having interest in our economy - I'm currently residing in the UK and they have interest in our economy and those that don't, it's because of their ignorance in buying into the images media portrays of Africa as needing a white saviour. Also, they did colonise us and continue to exploit us to this day so I'd argue their interest actually goes without saying.
Wrt the borders, I agree with you, we do need top-notch security at our borders, but they mustn't be a hinderence for people to come and go, especially if they are law-abiding, so I'm with you there. I agree with him on having public and private owned entities. This competition will bring down prices and break up current monopolies. The consumer needs the financial relief. Yes profit margins will not be as extensive for the elite, but that’s not a bad thing in the greater scheme of things. The first thing that comes to mind is the excessive fees in banking. A state-owned bank will challenge the monopoly of the banks in South Africa and make it more accessible for the majority. Have you considered how much of our population cannot afford to bank because of fees? Secondly, state-owned banks can challenge the monopoly of investment firms in our country. Investment firms that manage the bulk of the pensions of people working in the public sector. No-one wins except for the investment bankers. Imagine if this could be different. In mining, we can challenge De Beers’ domination of our diamonds. We can build our own smelters to export finished goods at a premium instead of concentrates and raw ore. Whether we like it or not, our country is owned internationally and prices/markets are fixed for the largest part to make profits in international currencies. The South African consumer always ends up paying the cost.
